8 Days In Sri Lanka

Day 1: Colombo Start your luxury holiday on arrival at Katunayaki International airport or as an addition to pre-existing travel arrangements in Sri Lanka. At the airport you will be met by local representatives who will assist with customs and immigration formalities. You will be escorted to your car and transported to your hotel in Colombo. Those guests with pre-existing travel arrangements in Sri Lanka will check-in at their hotel in Colombo. Following check-in, your luggage will be delivered

Day 1: Colombo

Start your luxury holiday on arrival at Katunayaki International airport or as an addition to pre-existing travel arrangements in Sri Lanka. At the airport you will be met by local representatives who will assist with customs and immigration formalities. You will be escorted to your car and transported to your hotel in Colombo. Those guests with pre-existing travel arrangements in Sri Lanka will check-in at their hotel in Colombo. Following check-in, your luggage will be delivered to your rooms. Overnight in Colombo at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel.

Day 2: Kandy/Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage

Following breakfast you will commence your journey to Kandy, visiting the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage enroute. Pinnawela is home to some 60 abandoned or orphaned elephants, cared for by the wildlife authority. Witness the bottle feeding of baby elephants and watch them being brought to the river to bathe. Continue to Kandy, visiting a spice garden enroute and check-in at the Chaaya Citadel hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Kandy

After breakfast take a city tour of Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings. Your visit will take in the Kandy Lake, built by the last king in the 18th century, the town and the bazaararts and crafts centre and a gem museum and lapidary. The main attraction is the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the sacred tooth of the Buddha. A cultural dance show is the highlight of the evening. Overnight in Kandy at Chaaya Citadel hotel.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya

Following breakfast you will leave for Nuwara Eliya. Enroute you will visit a tea factory and plantation with an opportunity to witness the processes involved in the production of some of the World`s finest teas, as well as sampling the product itself. Enjoy a city tour of Nuwara Eliya upon arrival. Located some 5,000 feet above sea level, the town provided a cool respite from the coastal heat for the early British settlers in Sri Lanka. Overnight at The Tea Factory.

Day 5: Horton Plain and World`s End

Following breakfast you will leave for your excursion to Horton Plains. The principle attraction here is World`s End, an escarpment dropping 4,000 feet vertically to the valley floor below. Return to the hotel with the rest of day at leisure. Overnight at The Tea Factory.

Day 6: Yala National Park

Following breakfast you will leave for Yala National Park, enjoying the splendid scenery enroute. Overnight at Yala Village.

Day 7: Yala National Park

Following breakfast take a jeep safari of Yala National Park. Yala is the largest national park in Sri Lanka and home to wild elephant, boar, buffalo, leopard, bear, deer and crocodile as well as flocks of migratory and indigenous birds. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight at Yala Village

Day 8: Departure

Following breakfast, check-out of your hotel and either transfer to the airport for your departure or continue with your onward arrangements in Sri Lanka.
