Horoscopes are published in newspapers, magazines, books and web sites. A person's horoscope, or birth chart as it is also called, depends on the time of the calendar year that he was born in. Once the particular sign and houses have been established, the mythological characteristics of the heavenly bodies, modified by the geometrical relationship between them, are used to foretell events in the life of the individual for whom it has been drawn. Astrologers remember that humanity has free will, so forecasting is not an exact, pre-destined event.
Astrology is a very complex system that needs to be considered in its entirety in order to get any kind of reasonable results. It is not about predicting one's future at all, rather it is a means of examining potential influences in one's life.
