An interesting thing happened on the way to discovering life. The sacrifice of death which created life was found? Now, what's that double-speak mean anyway? As I borrow from Maurice Cotterell, I thnk it was he, I find some similarities between he and Bernard Haisch in regards to how God has sacrificed part of himself to create we who make life interesting.
God is pure light and he took a part of that light and gave it to us.
The male must give up some of himself (sperm) to bring life. The female has to give up a part of herself (ovum) to create life. It is in the sacrifice of life that we create more life. Can we dare take this deeper? Could we say that it is in our death that we are recreated (reincarnation) in some fashion? Many things are easy to say but difficult to prove.
What I have come to is that we make our way up the maturation ladder through either sacrifice or love.
And we all know the sacrifices that love demands, or at least asks. So, could this journey into the 2012 abyss demand both of us? Could it be that in our love for humanity, God, the other, that we lay down our life for the greater good? But, what is that greater good? Is it esteeming others greater than ourselves- without any sesnse of false humility of course.
If God is really love, then love gives of itself and therein we have proof that creation requires sacrifice. Now, what all of that has to do with December 21, 2012 I know not! :-(
