Can the world change GREATLY and QUICKLY, like before December 2, 2012? Is that realistic? Probable isn't the word; however, possible gets a vote if for no other reason than because of the 100th Monkey concept. The hundredth-monkey effect is a phenomenon in which a learned behavior spreads instantaneously from one group of monkeys to all related monkeys once a critical number is reached. Can we humanoids be as smart as they?
This theory and behavior comes from an observation in the 1950's on an island off Japan.
The story behind this supposed phenomenon originated with Lawrence Blair and Lyall Watson, who claimed that it was the observation of Japanese scientists. One of the primary factors in the promulgation of the myth is that many authors quote secondary, tertiary or post-tertiary sources who have themselves misrepresented the original observations. The story nonetheless is how one monkey unknowingly washed his sweet potatoes in the water before eating them and alas they all then did it. It was done not just there but around the globe.
Rupert Sheldrake tells of a similar event in the South Pacific.
The point is in relation to 2012 that enough people are now awakening to what's been told for thousands of years that people are beginning to focus, in mass, on a potential major shift in global consciousness. I don't know what that number might be to reach critical mass or a tipping point, but what we do know is that it doesn't take but a couple of mild mannered savants to change the world. Is it 10,000, 100,000, or maybe a million people attuned to the Christ consciousness or wired to the universe somehow that resonates with our Source that responds in a way that we've not seen before?
Obviously the 26,000 cycle or trip around the galaxy hasn't been witnessed before.
But, just as obvious is the fact that the earth has survived many such cycles so there's evidence that we'll do it again: whomever WE might be. If nothing else, there's an excitement about LIFE building around the globe that not tied to consumerism, politics, or what's happening in Hollywood. We've got bigger fish to fry and the fire is being lit. :-)

As a spiritual-futurist, I have a BA degree majoring in history. One cannot know the future without knowing the past which holds clues to what is on the horizon. The world is in such a rapid expansion of knowledge that we are close to entering a tipping point that will forever change earth as we know it.
