People just cannot acknowledge that their world might and will change because majority of people are unhappy with this very world. If we think about the times when the geocentric concept was substituted by the heliocentric one, we will see that there was as much disagreement about the change in the ideology as there is nowadays about a potential change in consciousness. Thoughts and notions that we find convincing these days, were not forceful thousand years ago. That is the way our life goes.

Nowadays we all forget how daring and apparently reckless the scientists, truth-seekers, and spiritual leaders of those epochs were. Changes, however, usually take a lot of time and here I want to mention such important term as the axial age. You are sure to ask what it is. Karl Jaspers, a German philosopher, used this very term to describe the time from 800-200 BC, when radical ideas emerged in China, India and in the West. Jaspers believed that there were common changes in beliefs and philosophy in all these areas without any proven wide inter-communication between all these civilizations which included Ancient Greece, the Middle East, China and India. That is the reason why Jaspers thought this age to be unique, and believed it had to stand out in the history of humanity.

Who can deny that our epoch can represent the same axial age? A revolutionary change of the old religious thinking is going on all over the world. The position of the Catholic Church is staggering and Protestants denominations are collapsing. The impact of any worldwide religion is diminishing in most countries of the West. We seem to be coming closer to the edge of modern religious times, facing the new axial age. Are we ready for a new awakening? And now it is sure to happen even more quickly than before!.
