In plain words, a mantra is a hymn used for worshipping a God or Goddess to attain desired results and overcome difficulties and problems. Scientifically, it is said that mantras are compositions of powerful sounds, which create effective vibrations for mental, physical and spiritual healing. For that reason, if you cannot chant a mantra for a problem, listening to the audio mantra repeatedly will also give you result. A mantra is constructed of psychically potent sound syllables that are capable of influencing human consciousness. They can excite our emotions and provide suggestions to our mind and affect both the one who recites them as well as anyone who hears them. But it is always the best to chant or recite the mantra by you, preferably with a rosary or mala.

Mantras have special powers when they are utilized in a proper manner. Mantras are used in all the processes and they reach their Zenith when they are performed with Yantras and with proper care. Spiritual guidance is needed in the process of Mantra recitation. Some mantras also need initiation, i.e. when a Guru initiates it to you. Otherwise those mantra never gives desired results.
