"Wherever you are is the entry point." (Kabir)

As you read my articles, please don't evaluate or judge yourself for where you are in comparison with whatever concept I'm talking about in that particular article. While it is important to notice where you are, it's even more important to not judge yourself.

For you are where you are, and it's not possible to be anywhere else at this moment. So wherever you are is where you begin. Makes sense, right?

The key is not where you are, but what will you do with what you've been given? As Neale Donald Walsh says, "It is not a question of whether you 'have what it takes', but of whether you take the gifts you have - they are plenteous - and share them with all the world."

I encourage you to recognize your strengths, your talents, your gifts, and then find new ways to use them, new ways to share them with others, new ways to embrace what you've been given. And this can be done by seeing your gifts positively.

If you insist on critiquing yourself and finding you come up short, then you're sending yourself a message - one that is not love-filled, and one that will not enhance your inherent strengths. In fact, I've seen this type of negative feedback shut down an individual's gifts until s/he doesn't know how to access them anymore.

Instead, recognize your gifts, use them as often and as much as possible, share them with others, and value their presence in your life. By doing this, you will strengthen and reinforce your gifts and they will become even more beneficial in your life and the lives of others.

I love how Erma Bombeck put it, "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, 'I used everything you gave me!'"

And it all begins where you are right now.
