Dr. Brian Weiss was once an unbeliever in anything spiritual or supernatural. That is until he met a patient named "Catherine". Dr. Weiss is a graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School. Currently he is Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami and a much sought after speaker on the topic of reincarnation.

Catherine became the subject of the second book written by Dr. Weiss.
