John Edward is one of the world’s most famous mediums. His fame stems from his television program, Crossing over with John Edwards. On this program, John performs live psychic
readings on members of the studio audience.
He was born as John Edward McGee Jr. on October 19, 1969 in Glen Cove, New York, the son of a police officer. John was raised as a Roman Catholic and showed signs of psychic ability at an early age. He seemed to know quite a bit about family history and things that happened before he was born,
so many members of his family thought he was “special.”
The idea of psychic ability was accepted and embraced by his family, so there was no fuss made about his abilities. John’s childhood was relatively normal, and his abilities continued to develop.
He studied Public Administration and Health Care Administration, but ultimately became aware of his psychic abilities. After meeting Lydia Clar, a famous psychic in her own right, John devoted himself to developing his psychic talents. Lydia told him that his life’s work would involve teaching
people about the paranormal, and John became increasingly aware that his mission as a medium was to give comfort and hope to people by putting them in contact with their departed loved ones. With Lydia’s guidance, John worked with a wide array of individuals and entities. By 2000, the enormous
popularity of Crossing Over made him a household name. Sadly, the television show was recently cancelled after a spate of audience members protested on the internet and in traditional press that their conversations with John were cut and pasted together out of order and that his many “misses”
and temper tantrums were cut from the show.
John Edward describes himself as a psychic medium and devotes all his time to his work in this field. He travels around the world giving live audience readings and making personal appearances. He is so popular that he stopped scheduling personal readings in 2002, and there is a three-year wait
for an appointment. John also spends his time giving lecture, teaching, doing research, and writing about parapsychology.
John has written several books, including One Last Time, What if God Were the Sun, Crossing Over, The Stories Behind Stories, After Life: Answers from the Other Side and Practical Praying: Using Rosary to Enhance Your Life.
