An Out-Of-Body Experience To Remember

Today I was reading an article about a haunted house when I had a flashback to an out-of-body experience that haunts me to this day.

I moved away from my family twelve years ago and have only seen them once during that time.  Moving away was a very good thing for me.  I am not close to my family and their constant disapproval and lack of support for my life and struggles made a close relationship impossible.

However, after I few years away I did from time-to-time feel homesick.  Whenever I felt that way I would invariably have a dream of my family.  We would meet in my grandparents old house in my dreams and spend some time together.  At first I thought these experiences were dreams until I realized that everyone involved was the age they were now and the things we were talking about were happening at the time.  Another important point is that no deceased members of my family attended these meetings!  The only people who would show up are family members who are currently alive!

After a few "dreams" I also became aware that the owners of the house thought the house was haunted and didn't realize that the "ghosts" they sensed were actually human souls having an out-of-body experience in a place where we shared treasured memories.  I began to be aware of my return to my body just before my alarm clock went off.

One night several years ago I had the same out-of-body experience in my grandparents old house with my family.  We spoke of current events and shared some time together.  I became aware while visiting that I wanted to visit the town where my grandparents had lived (Clinton, Michigan) before heading home to wake up.  I said goodbye and exited through the door (without opening it) and headed out to the backyard.  As I was drifting past the backyard I became aware of a black mass on the property.  I was curious and drifted closer.  This coal black mass was vaguely the shape of a male human being but it was made up of material that looked smoke like and was filled with thousands of things I can only describe as "spider legs".  It was hideous and frightening beyond belief.  I became aware that it smelled strongly of smoke.  It continued to gyrate and started to come towards me.  While the mass moved towards me it spoke and said "Hello Bonnie."  The voice was unmistakable. 

The black, smoky mass was the spirit of my long dead uncle by marriage.  He was a child molester and I was one of, I suspect, his many victims.  He was truly an evil man who appeared to love children and tried to gain their trust so he could molest them.  As soon as he spoke I was immediately surrounded by beings that I can only describe as angels and they pulled me backwards away from my uncle and pushed me quickly back into my body.  I landed in my body with a thump so hard that it woke me up.  I was frightened, disoriented and sure that I had just had a bad dream.  That is, until I realized that my body reeked of cigar smoke!

I was clearly shaken and got up immediately to change my bed linens and take a shower.  I had trouble sleeping on subsequent nights.  Since that time I have not encountered my uncle during any of my out-of-body experiences despite the fact that I still visited with my family frequently. 

Years have gone by and my memory is not as sharp but I always wondered why my uncle appeared as a black mass of smoke with millions of spider legs.  Today I read an article in a paranormal magazine that told of the author's experience in a haunted house.  He described the ghost exactly the way my uncle appeared to me during my out-of-body travel.  His ghost was malevolent and drove his family away from the house they rented.  Now I have the comfort of knowing that my uncle's appearance was not unusual based on the fact that he was truly an evil person in life and appears to be in death.
