In his book ”Mexico Mystique: The Coming Sixth Age of Consciousness”, Frank Waters tied Coe’s December 24, 2011 date to astrology and the prophecies of the Hopi, while both José Argüelles and Terence McKenna (in their books ”The Transformative Vision” and ”The Invisible Landscape” respectively) discussed the significance of the year 2012, but not a specific day. In 1987, the year in which he held the Harmonic Convergence event, Arguelles settled on the date of December 21 in his book ”The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology”, in which he claimed on that date the Earth would pass through a great “beam” from the centre of the Galaxy, and that the Maya aligned their calendar in anticipation of that event.

Established themes found in 2012 literature include “suspicion towards mainstream Western culture”, the idea of spiritual evolution, and the possibility of leading the world into the New Age by individual example or by a group’s joined consciousness. The general intent of this literature is not to warn of impending doom but “to foster counter-cultural sympathies and eventually socio-political and ‘spiritual’ activism”. Aveni, who has studied New Age and SETI communities, describes 2012 narratives as the product of a “disconnected” society: “Unable to find spiritu<div

This date was in line with an idea he terms the ”galactic alignment”.

In the Solar System, the planets and the Sun share roughly the same plane of orbit, known as the plane of the ecliptic. From our perspective on Earth, the ecliptic is the path taken by the Sun across the sky over the course of the year. The 12 constellations which line the ecliptic are known as the zodiac and, through the year, the Sun passes through each constellation in turn. Additionally, over time, the Sun’s annual passage appears to recede counterclockwise by one degree every 72 years. This movement, called “precession”, is attributed to a slight wobble in the Earth’s axis as it spins. As a result, approximately every 2160 years, the constellation visible on the early morning of the spring equinox changes. In Western astrological traditions, this signals the end of one astrological age (currently the Age of Pisces) and the beginning of another (Age of Aquarius). Over the course of 26,000 years, precession makes one full circuit around the ecliptic.

Just as the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere is currently in the constellation of Pisces, so the winter solstice is currently in the constellation of Sagittarius, which is the zodiacal constellation intersected by the galactic equator. Every year for the last 1000 years or so, on the winter solstice, the Earth, Sun and the galactic equator come into alignment, and every year, precession pushes the Sun’s position a little way further through the Milky Way’s band.

Jenkins suggests that the Maya based their calendar on observations of the Great Rift, a band of dark dust clouds in the Milky Way, which the Maya called the ”Xibalba be” or “Black Road.” Jenkins claims that the Maya were aware of where the ecliptic intersected the Black Road and gave this position in the sky a special significance in their cosmology. According to the hypothesis, the Sun precisely aligns with this intersection point at the winter solstice of 2012. Jenkins claimed that the classical Mayans anticipated this conjunction and celebrated it as the harbinger of a profound spiritual transition for mankind. New Age proponents of the galactic alignment hypothesis argue that, just as astrology uses the positions of stars and planets to make claims of future events, the Mayans plotted their calendars with the objective of preparing for significant world events. Jenkins attributes the insights of ancient Maya shamans about the galactic center to their use of psilocybin mushrooms, psychoactive toads, and other psychedelics. Jenkins also associates the ”Xibalba be” with a “world tree”, drawing on studies of contemporary (not ancient) Maya cosmology.

Astronomers argue that the galactic equator is an entirely arbitrary line, and can never be precisely determined because it is impossible to say exactly where the Milky Way begins or ends. Jenkins claims he drew his conclusions about the location of the galactic equator from observations taken at above 11,000 feet, which is higher than any of the Maya lived. Furthermore, the precessional alignment of the Sun with any single point is not exclusive to a specific year, but takes place over a 36-year period, corresponding to its diameter. Jenkins himself notes that, even given his determined location for the line of the galactic equator, its most precise convergence with the centre of the Sun already occurred in 1998.

There is no clear evidence that the classic Maya were aware of precession. Some Maya scholars, such as Barbara MacLeod, Michael Grofe, Eva Hunt, Gordon Brotherston, and Anthony Aveni, have suggested that some Mayan holy dates were timed to precessional cycles, but scholarly opinion on the subject remains divided. There is also little evidence, archaeological or historical, that the Maya placed any importance on solstices or equinoxes. It is possible that early Mesoamericans had an emphasis on solstices which was later forgotten, but this is also a disputed issue among Mayanists. The start date of the Long Count is not astronomically significant.

Timewave zero and the I Ching

“Timewave zero” is a numerological formula that purports to calculate the ebb and flow of “novelty”, defined as increase in the universe’s interconnectedness, or organised complexity, over time. According to Terence McKenna, who conceived the idea over several years in the early-mid 1970s while using psilocybin mushrooms and DMT, the universe has a teleological attractor at the end of time that increases interconnectedness, eventually reaching a singularity of infinite complexity in 2012, at which point anything and everything imaginable will occur simultaneously.

McKenna expressed “novelty” in a computer program, which purportedly produces a waveform known as ”timewave zero” or the ”timewave”. Based on McKenna’s interpretation of the King Wen sequence of the I Ching, the graph appears to show great periods of novelty corresponding with major shifts in humanity’s biological and cultural evolution. He believed the events of any given time are recursively related to the events of other times, and chose the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as the basis for calculating his end date in November 2012. When he later discovered this date’s proximity to the end of the 13th b’ak’tun of the Maya calendar, he revised his hypothesis so that the two dates matched.

The first edition of ”The Invisible Landscape” refers to 2012 (as the year, not a specific day) only twice. McKenna originally considered it an incidental observation that his and José Argüelles dates matched, a sign of the end date “being programmed into our unconscious”. It was only in 1983, with the publication of Sharer’s revised table of date correlations in the 4th edition of Morley’s ”The Ancient Maya,” that each became convinced that December 21, 2012 had significant meaning. McKenna subsequently peppered this specific date throughout the second, 1993 edition of ”The Invisible Landscape.”

Popularization

In 2006, author Daniel Pinchbeck popularised New Age concepts about this date in his book ”2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl”, linking it to beliefs about crop circles, alien abduction, and personal revelations based on the use of entheogens and mediumship. Pinchbeck claims to discern a “growing realization that materialism and the rational, empirical worldview that comes with it has reached its expiration date…[w]e’re on the verge of transitioning to a dispensation of consciousness that’s more intuitive, mystical and shamanic.” Beginning in 2003, he has promoted these ideas annually in presentations at Burning Man. In April 2010, Pinchbeck and several others released the documentary film ”2012: Time for Change”.

In India, the guru Kalki Bhagavan has promoted 2012 as a “deadline” for human enlightenment since at least 1998. In the United States, the association of December 21, 2012 with a “transformation of consciousness” has also received popular attention in ”The Lost Symbol” (2009), a bestseller work of thriller fiction by Dan Brown, in which the date is associated with references to esoteric beliefs of Freemasonry and noetic theory. David Wilcock, a new age researcher, has gained increasing popularity with viral video-seminars promoting the idea of global ascension, and a golden age, in the year 2012

Adapted from the Wikipedia article 2012 phenomenon, under the G. Aquarius traditionally “rules” electricity, computers, flight, democracy, freedom, humanitarianism, idealists, modernization, rebels and rebellion, mental diseases, nervous disorders, and astrology. Other keywords and ideas believed associated with Aquarius are nonconformity, philanthropy, veracity, perseverance, mankind and irresolution. The appearance or elevation in status of many of these Aquarian developments over the last few centuries is considered by many astrologers to indicate the proximity of the Aquarian age. There is no uniform agreement about the relationship of these recent Aquarian developments and the Age of Aquarius. Some astrologers believe that the influence of a New Age is experienced before it arrives because of a cuspal effect or Orb of Influence. Other astrologers believe the appearance of Aquarian developments indicate the actual arrival of the Age of Aquarius.

David Williams

David Williams claims that the Age of Aquarius arrived about 1844, with the harbinger of the Siyyid `Alí Muḥammad (1819–1850), also known as the Báb, founder of Bábism. Williams adopts a sub-period approach to the ages whereby each age is divided into three decans. The three age-decans of the Aquarian Age in chronological order are Libra, Gemini and Aquarius. Williams states that the world is currently in the Libran decan of the Age of Aquarius which is why the world has been so affected by wars (due to Libra) and revolutions (due to Aquarius). He relates ideologies such as Socialism, Communism and Fascism to the arrival of the Age of Aquarius.

Though he acknowledges great progress since the Aquarian Age arrived about 1844, the world will have to wait for the Aquarian decan of the Aquarian Age before the true fellowship of humankind is experienced in the world. (According to Williams’s calculations, the Aquarian decan of the Age of Aquarius will arrive in about 3284, lasting until about 4004).

Marcia Moore and Mark Douglas

Marcia Moore and Mark Douglas promoted the view that though no one knows when the Aquarian Age begins, the American Revolution, the Industrial Revolution, and the discovery of electricity are all attributable to the Aquarian Age. Moore and Douglas make a number of predictions about the trends that they believe will develop in the Aquarian Age. These include people becoming more impersonal (detached), yet more altruistic and humane. Developments involving flight and space travel will result in decentralization. Inner cities will shrink and burgeoning outer suburbs and industrial areas will reduce congestion.

Vera Reid

Vera Reid takes a common position expressed by many astrologers and New Agers about the Age of Aquarius. Reid sees the Age of Aquarius as that time when humankind takes control of the Earth and its own destiny as its rightful heritage. As such, humankind will become the “Son of God” (Aquarius13). Reid believed that the keyword for Aquarius is ‘enlightenment’. The destiny of humankind in the Age of Aquarius is the revelation of truth and the expansion of consciousness.

Reid also believed that the many crises the world is experiencing are attributable to the waning days of the Age of Pisces meeting the incoming tide of Aquarius, with the transition between ages lasting approximately 280 years. Reid also promoted the idea that some people will experience mental enlightenment in advance of others and therefore be recognized as the new leaders in the world.

Robert Zoller

Robert Zoller is a proponent of medieval astrology. Zoller’s bleak predictions for the Age of Aquarius suggest that the Pisces world where religion is the opiate of the masses will be replaced in the Aquarian Age by a world ruled by secretive power-hungry elites seeking absolute power over others. Families will dissolve completely, or family ties will be hidden. Zoller also believes that knowledge in the Aquarian Age will only be valued for its ability to win wars; scientists may even be able to precipitate earthquakes for military means, and the danger in the Aquarian Age is that knowledge and science will be abused, not industry and trade. Zoller sees the Aquarian Age as a Dark Age wherein religion will be seen as offensive.

Albert Amao

Amao states that the transition period between any two ages is based on two degrees’ leeway at the point of intersection of two adjoining zodiacal constellations. Based on this transitional structure, Amao has the Age of Aquarius commencing in 1948 with the transitional period from the Pisces age to Aquarian age covering the period 1876 to 2020. Amao follows the causative approach to the ages and believes that the energy from the arriving constellation of Aquarius is actually creating the changes on Earth that many astrologers associate with the Age of Aquarius. The key characteristics of the Aquarian age according to Amao are: science will explain the mysteries of religion; knowledge and reason; freedom and equality, equality of the sexes and of religion; space exploration, supremacy of the United States over the former Pisces supremacy of Europe; and finally revelation of the Mystery.

Amao also states that the Mayan Long Count calendar, that has an end-date of December 21, 2012, is associated with precession of the equinoxes and therefore can provide an important demarcation for the Age of Aquarius. Another technique used by Amao is the longterm conjunction cycle of the planets Saturn and Jupiter that will have a conjunction of these two planets at the very beginning of the sign Aquarius in 2020. Combined with the closing transition date of 2020 derived from the one degree cusp method, Amao is convinced that we lie at the threshold of the Aquarian age.

Neil Spencer

Neil Spencer provides another sobering overview of the Age of Aquarius stating that the rise of scientific rationalism combined with the fall of religious influence is possibly an indication of the Age of Aquarius. The growth in demands of human rights since the 1780s, though remaining unfulfilled, is another indication of Aquarius. Spencer points to the exponential growth of technology, especially of computers and the Internet, plus the growth in flight and space travel as examples of the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.

Spencer also questions the New Age utopian view of the Age of Aquarius with the modern astrological perspective that each sign is different but equal. Possible negative examples of Aquarius include dumbed-down media and consumerism and rapacious international corporations. Finally, Spencer states that nuclear power must be a manifestation of the Aquarian Age and comments on the parallel between the 25,000 years it takes for uranium to decay with the 26,000 cycle of the astrological ages. No isotopes of uranium have a half-life of 25,000 years though, naturally occurring forms have half-lives of 4.46 billion years(U-238), 700 million years(U-235), and 245,000 years(U-234).

Louis MacNeice

Louis MacNeice reports that Rupert Gleadow saw the Age of Aquarius ruled by Uranus and thus in the Age of Aquarius the attributes of Uranus such as inventions, machines, worldwide organizations, international collaboration, and the fellowship of humankind would spread. MacNeice also states that Ingrid Lind believes the Age of Aquarius has already arrived and the recent appearance of modern ideas and inventions supports this assertion.

MacNeice also reports that Gleadow believed that the recent conflicts in the world (presumably the 20th century) correlate to the conflict between Saturn, ancient ruler of Aquarius and Uranus, modern ruler of Aquarius. Gleadow states that Saturn represents control, restrictions, and slavery, while Uranus represents culture, civilization, and intelligence. Though Gleadow viewed Uranus as a good planet, the famous astrologer Raphael believed Uranus to be evil and truly malefic.

Ray Grasse

Ray Grasse provides a guide to the Aquarian Age analogous to a travel guide for someone entering a foreign land. Grasse suggests that if you want help navigating through the Aquarian Age, you should leave room for silence in your life; create a center in your life (preferably involving a connection to the Absolute); and resist the deadening of your world, so instead of filling up your life with manufactured goods or artificiality, bring living organic things into your life. Furthermore, you need to maintain a compassionate heart; be involved in a network or group; become more self-reliant; avoid being hypnotized by the “group trance”; and take control of your everyday attitudes (i.e., do not depend upon external events for your inner fulfillment). This last point is relevant, as Grasse states, “How do we know if the Age of Aquarius will be ‘a utopia or an Orwellian nightmare?’”.

Paul Wright

Paul Wright believes that the arrival of the Aquarian age occurred around the American Revolution, the French Revolution and the discovery of Uranus in 1781. Wright also refers to the Industrial Revolution as another important signpost for the arrival of the Aquarian age. The American Revolution, French Revolution and Industrial Revolution are all revolutions with all revolutions aligned astrologically to Aquarius. Wright does concede that an astrological age cannot be assigned a specific year due to the cuspal effect between adjoining ages. Wright notes that while the Age of Aquarius arrived around the 1780s, the effects from the previous Pisces age will continue for some time.

Wright notes that the appearance of the New Age movement in the 1960s and 70s have little archetypal connection to Aquarius, and that a better guide to Aquarius is the science fiction writer HG Wells. Wrights’ predictions for the rest of the Age of Aquarius include: further progress with democratisation; the extension of Western affluence to the rest of the world; an altruistic spirit based on “disinterested humanitarianism”; a leap beyond materialism; religion will cease to be authoritarian and based upon the individual; and evolution of individuals and society to higher levels of consciousness.

Wright does not make use of age-decans or sub-ages but in their place he focuses upon the cycles of two outer planets, Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius) and Neptune (the ruler of Pisces). Wright explores in his book “The Great Ages and other astrological cycles” the correlation of historical events with these two planets since the late 18th century as a way to understand smaller historical periods than whole ages. Leadbeater, leaves a total of 43 Masters of the Ancient Wisdom at the fifth level of initiation.

Of these 43 Masters, a total of 12 have been identified by name, one by C.W. Leadbeater, nine by Alice A. Bailey, and two by Benjamin Creme.

C.W. Leadbeater named a Master called Master Jupiter who lives in India that is involved with overseeing the people, government, and development of India that is at this level..

Alice A. In addition to these three, she identified the three ”Lords of Liberation”–(Lord of Liberation #1, Lord of Liberation #2, and Lord of Liberation #3). According to Alice A. Finally, Alice A. Bailey also identified the three ”Lords of Karma” (Lord of Karma #1, Lord of Karma #2, and Lord of Karma #3). Ascended Masters named by Guy Ballard and Elizabeth Clare Prophet at this level include such Masters as Confucius, Lord Ling, Lady Master Magda, Pallas Athena, Lanello, Kwan Yin, the Great Divine Director, Padre Pio, Godfre and his “twin flame” (celestial wife) Lady Master Lotus, and many dozens more.

In the Ascended Master Teachings, the ”Master Jupiter” is referred to as Chananda.

According to the Ascended Master Teachings, ”Sanat Kumara” has a grandson named Master Cha Ara who is half mortal and who just recently became a Master, therefore meaning he is functioning at the fifth level.

Adapted from the Wikipedia article Initiation (Theosophy), under the G. Leadbeater “discovered” fourteen-year-old Krishnamurti in 1909 during walks to the beach that was part of the Theosophical headquarters in Adyar, India. Krishnamurti and his family had been living next to the headquarters for a few months before his “discovery”. Leadbeater proclaimed Krishnamurti the most likely candidate for the “vessel” of the ”World Teacher” that many Theosophists were expecting. This new teacher would, in the pattern of Moses, Siddhārtha Gautama, Zarathustra, Jesus of Nazareth, and Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullāh, divulge a new dispensation, a new religious teaching for the coming Age of Aquarius. Many Theosophists believed that Maitreya would “dwell” in the body of Krishnamurti, just as he purportedly dwelt in ”Master Jesus” during his ministry. Krishnamurti was extensively groomed for this mission, and an organization called the ”Order of the Star in the East” was set up, with him as its head, in order to remove the mechanical, material obstacles and difficulties from the path of the ”World Teacher”.

However, as Krishnamurti grew to maturity, his emphasis in public talks and private discussions shifted away from the expected ”World Teacher”. This change mirrored more fundamental changes in Krishnamurti as a person, including his gradual disenchantment with the<div

On August 3 1929 he disbanded the ”Order of the Star” in Ommen, the Netherlands, in front of 3000 people including Annie Besant, and denounced the concept of saviors, leaders and spiritual teachers. He severed his ties with Theosophy, and spent the rest of his life holding dialogues and giving public talks around the world as an unaffiliated individual speaker, becoming in the process widely known as an original, independent thinker on philosophical, psychological, and spiritual subjects.

Adapted from the Wikipedia article Maitreya (Theosophy), under the G. Its central precepts revolve around “drawing on both Eastern and Western spiritual and metaphysical traditions and then infusing them with influences from self-help and motivational psychology, holistic health, parapsychology, consciousness research and quantum physics” in order to create “a spirituality without borders or confining dogmas” that is inclusive and pluralistic. Another of its primary traits is holding to “a holistic worldview”, thereby emphasising that the ”Mind, Body and Spirit” are interrelated and that there is a form of ”Oneness” and unity throughout the universe. It further attempts to create “a worldview that includes both science and spirituality” and thereby embraces a number of forms of science and pseudo-science.

According to historian Nevill Drury, the origins of the movement can be found in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, particularly through the works of the esotericists Emanuel Swedenborg, Franz Anton Mesmer, Helena Blavatsky and George Gurdjieff, who laid some of the basic philosophical principles that would later influence the movement. It would gain further momentum in the 1960s, taking influence from metaphysics, self-help psychology, and the various Indian gurus who visited the West during that decade.

The New Age movement includes elements of older spiritual and religious traditions ranging from atheism and monotheism through classical pant<div

New Age practices and philosophies sometimes draw inspiration from major world religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Chinese folk religion, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism; with strong influences from East Asian religions, Gnosticism, Neopaganism, New Thought, Spiritualism, Theosophy, Universalism, and Western esotericism.

Adapted from the Wikipedia article New Age, under the G. However, horoscopic astrology has been practiced in India since ancient times, and Vedic astrology is the oldest surviving form of horoscopic astrology in the world. The tradition deals with two-dimensional diagrams of the heavens, or horoscopes, created for specific moments in time. The diagram is then used to interpret the inherent meaning underlying the alignment of celestial bodies at that moment based on a specific set of rules and guidelines. A horoscope was calculated normally for the moment of an individual’s birth, or at the beginning of an enterprise or event, because the alignments of the heavens at that moment were thought to determine the nature of the subject in question. One of the defining characteristics of this form of astrology that makes it distinct from other traditions is the computation of the degree of the Eastern horizon rising against the backdrop of the ecliptic at the specific moment under examination, otherwise known as the ascendant. Horoscopic astrology is the most influential and widespread form of astrology in Africa, India, Europe and the Middle East. Medieval and most modern Western traditions of astrology have Hellenistic origins.

Horoscope

Central to horoscopic astrology and its branches is the calculation of the horoscope or astrological chart. This two-dimensional diagrammatic representation shows the celestial bodies’ apparent positions in

the heavens from the vantage of a location on Earth at a given time and place. The horoscope is also divided into twelve different celestial houses which govern different areas of life. Calculations performed in casting a horoscope involve arithmetic and simple geometry which serve to locate the apparent position of heavenly bodies on desired dates and times based on astronomical tables. In ancient Hellenistic astrology the ascendant demarcated the first celestial house of a horoscope. The word for the ascendant in Greek was ὡροσκόπος (”hōroskopos”) from which ”horoscope” derives. In modern times, the word has come to refer to the astrological chart as a whole.

Branches

Traditions of horoscopic astrology can be divided into four branches that are each directed towards specific subjects or purposes. Often these branches use a unique set of techniques, or a different application of the core principles of the system to a different area. Many other subsets and applications of astrology are derived from these four fundamental branches.

Natal astrology is the study of a person’s natal chart to gain information about the individual and their life experience. Katarchic astrology includes both electional and event astrology. The former uses astrology to determine the most auspicious moment to begin an enterprise or undertaking, and the latter to understand everything about an event from the time at which it took place. Horary astrology is used to answer a specific question by studying the chart of the moment the question is posed to an astrologer. Mundane or world astrology is the application of astrology to world events, including weather, earthquakes, and the rise and fall of empires or religions. This includes the Astrological Ages, such as the Age of Aquarius, Age of Pisces, and so on.

The idea of the Nibiru encounter originated with Nancy Lieder, a Wisconsin woman who claims that as a girl she was contacted by gray extraterrestrials called Zetas, who implanted a communications device in her brain. In 1995, she founded the website ZetaTalk to disseminate her ideas. Lieder first came to public attention on internet newsgroups during the build-up to Comet Hale-Bopp’s 1997 perihelion. She stated, speaking as the Zetas, that “The Hale-Bopp comet does not exist. It is a fraud, perpetrated by those who would have the teeming masses quiescent until it is too late. Hale-Bopp is nothing more than a distant star, and will draw no closer.” She claimed that the Hale-Bopp story was manufactured to distract people from the imminent arrival of a large planetary object, “Planet X”, which would soon pass by Earth and destroy civilization. After Hale-Bopp’s perihelion revealed it as one of the brightest and longest-observed comets of the last century, Lieder removed the first two sentences of her initial statement from her site, though they can still be found in Google’s archives. Her claims eventually made the ”New York Times”.

Lieder described Planet X as roughly four times the size of the Earth, and said that its perigee would occur on May 27, 2003, resulting in the Earth’s rotation ceasing for exactly 5.9 terrestrial days. This would be followed by the Earth’s pole destabilising in a pole shift (a ”physical” pole shift, with the Earth’s pole physically moving, rather than a geomagnetic reversal) caused by magnetic attraction between the Earth’s core and the magnetism of the passing planet. This in turn would disrupt the Earth’s magnetic core and lead to subsequent displacement of the Earth’s crust.

Lieder’s Planet X idea first spread beyond her website in 2001, when Mark Hazlewood, a former member of the ZetaTalk community, took her ideas and published them in a book: ”Blindsided: Planet X Passes in 2003”. Lieder would later accuse him of being a confidence trickster. A Japanese cult called the ”Pana Wave Laboratory”, which blocked off roads and rivers with white cloths to protect itself from electromagnetic attacks, also warned that the world would end in May 2003 after the approach of a tenth planet.

Roughly a week before the supposed arrival of Planet& X, Lieder appeared on KROQ radio in Los Angeles, and advised listeners to put their pets down in anticipation of the event. When asked if she had done so, she replied that she had, and that “The puppies are in a happy place.” She also advised that “A dog makes a good meal”. After the 2003 date passed without incident, Lieder said that it was merely a “White Lie … to fool the establishment,” and said that to disclose the true date would give those in power enough time to declare martial law and trap people in cities during the shift, leading to their deaths.

Many internet sites continue to proclaim that Lieder’s object is en route to Earth, often citing its arrival date as December, 2012. This date has gathered many apocalyptic associations, as it is the end of the current cycle (baktun) in the long count in the Mayan calendar. Several writers have published books connecting the collision with 2012, Hazlewood has since changed his views on Planet X, and now says that there are intelligent alien forces acting to protect us as a species, and that we are set to ascend to a higher level of consciousness in 2012.

Zecharia Sitchin and Sumer

Although Lieder originally referred to the object as “Planet X”, it has become deeply associated with ”Nibiru”, a planet from the works of ancient astronaut proponent Zecharia Sitchin, particularly his book ”The 12th Planet”. According to Sitchin’s interpretation of Babylonian religious texts, which contravenes every conclusion reached by credited scholars on the subject, a giant planet (Nibiru or Marduk) passes by Earth every 3,600 years and allows its sentient inhabitants to interact with humanity. These beings, which Sitchin identifies with the Annunaki of Sumerian myth, would become humanity’s first gods. Lieder first made the connection between Nibiru and her Planet X on her site in 1996 (“Planet X does exist, and it is the 12th Planet, one and the same.”).

Sitchin however denies any connection between his work and Lieder’s claims. In 2007, partly in response to Lieder’s proclamations, Sitchin published a book, ”The End of Days”, which set the time for the last passing of Nibiru by Earth at 556 BC, which would mean, given the object’s supposed 3,600–year orbit, it would return sometime around AD 2900. He did however say that he believed that the Annunaki might return earlier by spaceship, and that the timing of their return would coincide with the shift from the astrological Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius, sometime between 2090 and 2370.

No related posts.

How the Mayan Calendar Works

The Mayan Calendar

2012

2012 phenomenon

Age Of Aquarius

Doomsday

End of the world

Mayan Calendar

Nostradamus

Planet x
<guid

Although it has been considered as a forgotten method and reference in counting seasons and days during the ancient period, the Mayan Calendar has started to be the focus of attention for doomsday conspiracy and theorists for the past decade. This is because of the mayan calendar end of the world prophecies that is said to unfold on December, 2012, causing worldwide fear, curiosity and fascination. The ancient Mayans are an indigenous civilization from Central America and had lived thousands of years ago around Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula; a race of people that are far advanced in their studies of astronomy and mathematics as well as being highly spiritual. Their advanced knowledge for astronomy and their creativity are evident in the few surviving pictorial alphabet and drawings which is also proof that the Mayans existed long before the Spanish conquistadors had reached the Central Americas.

The Mayan Calendar is among the several systems that today’s archaeologists, scholars and scientists study ancient civilization with. The ancient calendar is a very advanced and mathematically accurate system that calculates the movements of the sun and the moon and the changes in the seasons. Modern scientists had attested to the accuracy of the Mayan Calendar and had even found out that it is far more accurate than the calendars that had followed it. And this mathematically accurate capability of calculating days and months and years is one of the reasons why people from all over the world believe in the end of the world 2012 predictions. So now that

we are all aware of just how accurate the ancient Mayan Calendar is, the next question we should be asking is how does the mayan calendar work?

The Mayan Calendar features three periods of time and can be viewed as three different dials on a single watch, each of these dials have a specified time scale. The three time periods in the calendar is the Long Count period that relates to time periods stretching for thousands of years; the standard 365 day period called the Haab and the shortest time period, covering only a fortnight is the Tzolkin. Each dial is a finite system that covers certain times of starting and finishing points that enable its users to determine the specific start and end time of a month, year or even a millennium which is very much like the modern day calendars that we use.

The Mayans, a superstitious civilization, marks the end of each cycles which are called the Calendar Round, every fifty two years, and is seen as an unlucky time. December 21st 2012 is a date that has become synonymous with Mayan and Aztec end of the world prophecies, because the longest time cycle in the Mayan Calendar, the Long Count Calendar, which is the only calendar in the history of the world that dates back more than five thousand years, will return to zero. The mayan astrology is known for its mathematical and scientific accuracy, have they really determined when life here on earth will finally come to an end?

If you want to read more about the Mayan Calendar, visit our 2012 Official Countdown website.

No related posts.

2012 – The End of the Age

Indigo Children 2012

2012

Age Of Aquarius

Feminine energy

Mayan Calendar

Peru

Spiritual Awakening
<guid

Have you felt an urge to change – maybe you’ve started noticing changes occurring around you?

Every 2000 years one cosmic age ends and another begins. The Piscean Age – the Christian era – is now coming to a close, and the Age of Aquarius is currently on the ascendancy. Some have suggested that Jesus Himself foretold the New Age, with this instruction (Luke 22:10 and Mark 14:13) – “A man will meet you, carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in.” (Aquarius is symbolised by the water-carrier… or, some might say, water-gatherer). Jesus, we understand, is the Alpha and the Omega – the Beginning and the End. His return is expected by many to be during the early stages of the New Age. The Antichrist is also expected to begin marshalling his forces at that time.

The Age of Aquarius has been interpreted as a time when the human microcosm will join in harmony with the divine macrocosm: it has also been seen as a pouring out of the Water of Life – the Holy Spirit (or in Eastern terms, Kundalini) – on humanity. The creation of a noosphere – a sphere of the spirit – has been predicted. The Book of Prophecies of the 11th century Knight John of Jerusalem says that “The millennium that comes after this millennium will change into a light time. People will love and share and dream, and dreams will come true… people will be one big body, of which every person is a tiny part. Together they’ll be the heart, and they’ll sp

eak one language… men will have reached heaven… men will know the spirit of all things… people will receive a second birth and the spirit will come into them.” This, surely, is the beginning of the 1000 years of happiness and perfection spoken of in the 20th chapter of the Book of Revelation.

Buddhists, too, see this as a time of rebirth for humanity – a new beginning. And in Islamic tradition, there is a Qiyamah time – a time of judgment and resurrection – which seems to coincide with the Age of Aquarius. Hindu scriptures speak of an age of truth (Satya Yuga) when the falsehood of the previous age (Kali Yuga – age of darkness and ignorance) will be revealed and will fall away.

A Golden Age is beginning, when religious differences will disappear, and minds will be freed of ignorance and delusion. There will be a spiritual awakening, allowing each individual to begin an inner spiritual journey, seeking after Truth and the eternal Spirit. It will be recognised that individual worth comes from within. People will begin to rely less on money, possessions, fame, power and other people for the answers they seek. The emphasis will be on kindness and understanding, humanity, spirituality, truth and enlightenment. The human race will become visionary and super-conscious. Leo, the polar opposite of Aquarius, will lend its complementary characteristics, encouraging, inspiring and enlightening… facilitating inner growth and universal harmony, peace and love. The sacredness of Life will be recognised. False doctrines will crumble, but many subjects previously regarded with suspicion – UFOs, vegetarianism, alternative medicine, astrology, etc – will become commonplace. Spontaneous spiritual awakening, near-death experiences and extraterrestrial contacts are expected to become commonplace. Shifts in human consciousness will be accompanied by a reawakening of the feminine – both in secular and spiritual contexts. Ancient spiritual and indigenous knowledge, formerly secret, will become increasingly available to the public. And the Internet will facilitate human interconnections on a scale never before seen. Networks and alliances are already beginning to form – in many cases, secretly or underground – to assist with this great Shift of the Ages.

Each cosmic Age is overseen by one of the seven rays of the Holy Spirit. The so-called ‘violet flame’ associated with the Age of Aquarius is sometimes known as ‘the flame of transmutation and freedom’ – it can melt hard hearts, balance karma, heal spiritual hurts and wounds, and transmute negative thinking. The observance of the presence of the violet flame and the raising of the sacred fire of Kundalini, for at least fifteen minutes every day, will increase our reverence for the Divine Mother, creating a sense of wholeness and balance between the masculine and feminine aspects of God and allowing us to integrate with our Higher Selves. We will recognise the Divine in everything and everyone with whom we come into contact, the Flame in us acknowledging the Flame in them. The Flame is the feminine energy, sometimes called the Spiritual (or Divine) Mother, the Holy Spirit, Wisdom, or Kundalini. The Scriptures foretell the coming of this feminine energy – Revelation 12:1 (RSV) it says, “And a great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars”.

The arrival of a New Cosmic Period involves powerful shifts in cosmic energies. The Earth’s energy shifted in 1987 from Tibet (masculine) to Peru (feminine)… in particular, Lake Titicaca, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas, high in the Andes. This is the portal through which feminine energy is now entering Mother Earth (Pacha Mama). South America has now become the land of spiritual promise.

It is natural that in the presence of a new preponderance of feminine energy pouring into our world, women – more than men – will respond, and welcome the coming of the New Age. But whether male or female, each of us has a masculine and a feminine nature: there is a place in this great adventure for every one of us. All that is necessary is that we acknowledge our feminine side, and its validity. The feminine will be invoked through prayer and meditation. The rise of the ‘new man’ in modern society suggests that already many men are recognising this aspect of their personalities, and the valid demands of the Divine Mother. According to astrology, women are identified with the Moon and Venus: Anael, the Angel of Venus, is due to assume guardianship of the world from AD2188 to AD2497, and not until that time are women expected to finally achieve complete sexual equality. However, we are now entering an age of the ascendancy of women, depicted in the last card of the Tarot – the World – where we see the Sphinx, the mythological beast that combines the features of a woman, a lion, a bull, and an eagle. Woman’s place in the World is now finally to start receiving some recognition. Other than among a small number of mystics, the feminine aspect of God (other than indirectly, through the Virgin) received little recognition during the Christian era. But that which is neglected in one era, comes to the fore in the next.

2012 – the Year of the Dragon – is expected to be an apocalyptic year, and particularly one of great spiritual transformation. Mankind is likely to experience an enormous shift in consciousness. That year an astronomical event will take place that has taken 26,000 years to complete – the plane of our solar system will line up precisely with the plane of our galaxy, the Milky Way. And according to NASA, the sun will reverse its magnetic poles: this may cause solar storms and increases in cosmic rays. It has also been suggested that – according to certain ‘algorithmic codes’, hidden in the Bible – a meteor, asteroid or comet will collide with the Earth that year. It is predicted that this will precipitate various natural disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and supervolcano eruptions. An oil crisis is also expected, accompanied by permanent blackouts, worldwide. On 13 November a total solar eclipse will be visible from northern Australia and the South Pacific. Finally, at 11.11 (Universal Time) on 21 December (the Winter Solstice), the Mayan calendar (or to give it its full name, the ‘Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar’) will come to the end of its thirteenth (and final) B’ak’tun cycle. This is expected by many to herald a transition from the current Creation world into the next. Cosmic portals are expected to open, at a number of sacred sites around the world, including Peru and Sedona, Arizona. One Hindu tradition predicts the appearance of an Avatar (God in human form) at this time, with superhuman powers. It is also widely believed that alien ‘watchers’ or ‘caretakers’ will return to Earth now, having helped us develop our technology, throughout human civilization, and having waited until this time for us to reach a higher level of advancement. Recently, a fiery object fell from the skies in Peru, creating a 15-foot deep hole, more than 60 feet wide, and filled with boiling water. People approaching it were made ill by the fumes it gave off. The crater has now started shrinking. This – it has been suggested – is the arrival of a UFO, that has now insinuated itself into the Andes mountains, ready for the time when contact will be made. Many more such occurrences are anticipated, as our extraterrestrial ‘brothers’ land in great numbers. “The Kingdom is no longer at hand”, says Aramu-Muru. “The Kingdom is here, and is shortly to be manifest to all men.”

Between now and 2012, it has been predicted, many new spiritual masters will arise. Worldwide, governments will begin to topple, and monetary systems will be scrapped in favour of new currencies. The period leading up to the Apocalypse will also be a time of great personal change for many people, including the ending of relationships, and the beginning of new ones, moves to new locations and residences, job changes and shifts in attitudes, as part of what we came here to experience and learn. Dreaming will become more intense, for many, and the mind and body will become more sensitive. Some say that the actual structure of DNA itself is changing, as a new ‘light body’ is created. Intuitive and healing abilities will come to the fore, and the new generation – the ‘indigo ‘ children – will tend to be telepathic. We are seeing the birth of a new mythology.

How should we respond to all of this? The simple advice is… follow your heart, and let your intuition, not your intellect, be your guide. Resist those who would control, and pursue the path of healing that resonates with you. But recognise that – for many – these changes will represent the end of the world as they know it. Before rushing towards the Light, stop for a moment, to assist those who are frozen in fear, doubt and indecision. As we approach this new world age, we must in love reach out to the rest of humanity, and to Gaia, the Earth Mother. But above all, recognise that the Mayan calendar does not really ‘end’ in 2012 – it merely starts its cycle all over again. What is approaching is not the end, but the beginning!

Malcolm C Dragon – http://www.malcolmcdragon.com – is a self-employed infopreneur and online marketer, as well as an ordained multifaith minister with a special interest in death midwifery and Eastern philosophy and culture. />Madam Blavatsky (1831 – 1891)

The Age of Aquarius has brought us a new Paradigm to live by. It is the Laws of Quantum Physics. This new Age will be with us for the next 2000 years. It will be the Age of the Mind, The Age of Conscious Individualization.

Madame Blavatsky and her creation “The Theosophical Society” was born during the Age of Pisces. But even though Theosophy was put forth by Blavatsky in the 1800′s, the wisdom contained in her writings is timeless.

The Age of Aquarius with it’s Laws of Quantum Physics tells us that there exists an infinite ocean of thinking, intelligent energy called the Quantum Ocean.

It is the Mind of God where you, I and all the Universe live, move and have our existence. Everything that was, is or will be exists in the Quantum Ocean.

The wisdom of Theosophy has always existed. Every hundred years or so a few enlightened individuals dip into the Quantum Ocean and bring forth this wisdom.

They talk and write about it in the style and understanding of the times they lived in.

H.P. Blavatsky was one of the enlightened ones. Her books Isis Unveiled, The Secret Doctrine, Keys to Theosophy, to name a few, are her great works explaining the ancient wisdom in her language.

If you re-read her writings you will see that she thoroughly understands the Laws of Quantum Physics. She knew that she had to use her own 19th Century language to get her particular version of the ancient wisdom down on paper, and acro<div

Do not let my last incarnation be a failure!”

She knew that the Laws of Quantum Physics with it’s description of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) where everything always exists, is proof of reincarnation. She knew that when she came back she wanted the teachings to be strong.

“All things that ever were, that are, or that will be, having their record upon the Astral light of the tablet of the unseen Universe (Quantum Ocean) can be known by all.”

“There is no miracle. Everything that happens is the result of law (Laws of Quantum Physics) which is eternal, immutable, and ever alive (Mind of God).

“Science will never recognize either dreams, spirituality or occultism. (They leave God out of their equation.) The Laws of Quantum Physics tell us we live move and have our being inside the Mind of God.

“Such knowledge (the laws of Quantum Physics) is priceless and has been hidden only form those who overlook it, deride it, or deny it’s existence.”

The Great Soul of Madam Blavatsky blinked out of the Quantum Ocean (Mind of God) in the 19th Century to give us the Wisdom of Theosophy.

It is now truly exciting to sit back and wait to see how or who this great soul will ‘blink out” once again in the now of the Age of Aquarius. Who will she be? Is she here already?

And while we are waiting for her appearance we can read books of Theosophy” and see the correlation between her words and the the Laws of Quantum Physics.

Ragnar Storyteller (AKA Ellis Peterson is a Korean War Vet living with his wife Lory and dog Dixie in the boonies of the Pocono Mountains.
