Can you revitalize yourself by a simple process? Yes, and it’s a long held secret passed down from the ancient Hindu civilizations, long before there was Egypt, Mesopotamian civilizations and ancient Greece.

By applying this simple technique (performed in the sunlight) you can instantly revitalize yourself, and bring to your body and mind a refreshed, relaxed, yet fully energized state.

How it is done?

First of all, you must sit for a moment and collect all your thoughts, and feelings, and mentally expel them to the universe. Its an easy exercise. You can pretend you are collecting them with a sticky piece of cotton, and when all the thoughts, doubts, fears, and anxieties are collected, mentally expel them in an exploding gesture to the universe.

As this is done, stand upright, and assume the star position. The star position is featured by Leonardo da Vinci in his “radial man” drawing. Both legs are spread apart, and the two arms our outstretched parallel to the ground.

The left palm is facing the sky and the right is facing the earth.

Now in position you are ready to begin the exercise

While standing in the star position, close your eyes and feel the cosmic energy entering your body from your left hand, and pulsing through your entire body. You can feel a tingle in about 30 seconds after you begin,

Visualize the energy pulsating through your entire body, and exiting via your right hand, grounding itself in the earth beneath your feel. Stay in this position for at least 1 minute and<div

Repeating the prayer will help you absorb the cosmic energy, and at the end of the exercise, you will feel revitalized, refreshed, and energized.

Do this exercise only in the sun, and or especially bathing in the sea. While in the sea, float on your back, and assume the same star position. When your swim is over, you will feel totally exhilarated.

Variation of the Exercise in the Original Concept

If you able, you can repeat the most ancient of all Hindu mantras, the Gayatri Manta while performing the exercise. The Hindus believe this mantra is completely non-sectarian, and praises God as a power of light to expel darkness, the way the sun expels the darkness of the night. We include it here in transliterated Sanskrit and its English translation

Om Bhur Buvaha Suvaha

Thath Savithur Varenyam

Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi

Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayath

WE contemplate the glory of Light illuminating the three worlds: The gross, the subtle and the causal.

I am that vivifying power, love, radiant illumination, and the divine grace of universal intelligence

We pray for the divine light to illuminate our minds.

Sacha Tarkovsky

No related posts.

A brief history of post – Modern Platform Shoes

Ancient Civilizations

Elevated shoes

Elevator shoes

Gain height

Grow taller

Height increasing shoes

Heightening shoes

Increase height

Photography

Platform shoes

Shoes

Walk tall shoes
<guid

Records of ancient civilizations like the Roman and Greek have reference to men and women of high social standing wearing platform shoes. The Victorian age saw the disappearance of this fashion only to be resurrected in the twentieth century. These shoes in the twentieth century were extremely popular in the ?30s, and ?70s before they eventually went out of fashion. These have been popular across different cultures and religions throughout history. Even Shakespeare commented on them in one of his plays ?Hamlet?.

The ?70s and the decade preceding it was characterized by the absence of gender rules and it was normal to see both men and women wear similar clothes and adorn these type of shoes. Just take a trip down the memory lane and you will see most pop artists wearing psychedelic colored platforms. In the ?70s you would find platforms in almost every place be it the disco, pub, street or workplace. These shoes gained so much popularity that having platforms was a must for all. The seventies decade was also infamous for several other excesses like fast cars, fashion, drugs, and sex. It was a time when it was difficult to make out if life imitated art or vice versa.

However during its heyday, medical professionals started raising serious concerns over the excessive use these popular height increasing shoes. This type of shoes were causing serious and irreversible damage to the spine and it was only a matter of time that these shoes went out of fashion and were replaced by sober normal looking dress, formal, business and casual shoes. This was a bl<div

These shoes quickly caught the imagination of the average height men and become extremely popular. Till this day elevator shoes remain the safest and easiest way to gain height. Elevator shoes have an insole that is 1 – 3 inches high made of tough comfortable material. The insole is stitched inside the shoe and is not visible from the outside. The shoe looks like a normal shoe on the outside, while increasing the height of the wearer without compromising the comfort. Elevator shoes are today available in different styles and designs and short people no longer have to resort to using the outdated platform shoes just to gain height.

Sonali Guha

Author Bio
Walk Tall Shoes are one of the North America’s top manufacturers of elevator shoes.

Mesopotamian, Ancient Egyptian, Hellenistic Greek, and Roman were great civilizations that enormously influenced the following development of the world. Each civilization contributed a large amount of it’s achievements to the overall progress of the world. However, I think that Hellenistic Greek was the most important out of the chosen civilizations to impact the world. Hellenistic Greek was the culmination of the advancement of the ancient world. By using the following comparison of these civilizations I will try to prove my point of view of Hellenistic Greek being the greatest.

Mesopotamian is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. It is very interesting that Mesopotamians had a started some sort of democracy. They solved all the rising questions and problems by public assemblies and voting. They used debates to have pros and cons presented and then decided about the following actions or solutions. However, their class structure was sharply divided. At the top were kings and noble classes. There were also slaves who could engage in business, own property, and even testify in court.

The daily life of Mesopotamians was very boring. They only worked and worshiped their gods. The main industry that people were engaged in was agriculture. The tools used to work in the field were made out of stone. This shows not much of the progress in innovations that would make the very day life much easier.

The main reminding of Mesopotamian art are the frescoes that were found as decorations of sanctuary rooms. Bull and bear heads were also used a

s decorations. Scholars also found drawings that probably were the musical notes for Mesopotamians. Mesopotamian did not achieve much in architecture. Their houses were plain without any decorations which is probably the result of people being busy working and not having time to decorate their houses.

Mesopotamian philosophy is revealed in their myths that were the combination of Babylonian, Assyrian, Akkadian and Sumerian myths. Each of these regions had their own myths but due to the closeness all of them were related and had a lot of similarities. Myths were mostly about the religious events and importance of worshiping their ancestors. Most of the writing, though, that survived from Mesopotamian times consist of laws, accounting records, list of kings and enemies.

Ancient Egypt had a different concept of political structure comparing to Mesopotamia. In Egypt it was all up to the pharaoh and there were no debates and public discussions. The social structure was similar to the Mesopotamian. On the very top was the pharaoh, then vizier, then high priests and nobles, then priests, engineers and doctors, then scribes and craftsmen. On the very bottom of the social pyramid were soldiers, farmers and tomb builders.

Agriculture was the main occupation for Egyptians just like for Mesopotamians. The Egyptians were one of the first groups on earth to begin farming, probably around 10,000 BC. They were also great at building. The Egyptian pyramids were built throughout ages and still remain one of the wonders of the world.

Most of what we know about Egyptian art comes from the paintings the Egyptians created in the tombs of rich people when they died. It is very similar to Mesopotamians. These pictures were supposed to help the dead person when he or she reached the next world, where the Egyptians thought a person lived after the death in this world. So the paintings showed all sorts of things that people did in their regular lives.

Egyptian homes were made of dried mud bricks. Towns had small narrow streets. Throughout the Egyptian history the styles in architecture were changing. In the beginning, they built mainly mastabas, a kind of tomb with a flat roof like a house. Then during most of the Old Kingdom, the Egyptians built the pyramid tombs which are now so famous. In the Middle Kingdom, the mastaba tomb came back again, although in a more elaborate form for the Pharaohs. No more pyramids were built. Finally in the New Kingdom there was a lot of building that was not tombs: temples for the gods especially, but also palaces for the Pharaohs.

The main philosophy of the Egyptians was to be afraid of nature gods. They believed in Gods, sacrificed, and were afraid of them. Each natural thing had its own God. What we have left of Egyptian writing, like Egyptian art, mostly comes out of tombs. Because of this, most of what we have left is prayers. Other writing like laws and lists of who gave their fair share to the temple mostly has rotted away over the years. We do not know whether the Egyptians wrote novels or stories, but if they did then these stories have also rotted away.

The civilization that I believe is the greatest is Hellenistic Greek. During the Hellenic era Macedon was the most popular, important, and interesting city-state of Greece. Hellenistic Greece was more similar to Mesopotamia than to Egypt in its political structure. Huge Greece was divided into city-states that has own governing bodies. Macedon was also kind of buffer to protect the rest of the Greek empire from the aggressive neighbors. However, Macedonians were always unappreciated by their fellow Greeks. Hellenistic era was also called “the age of the Greeks” because Greeks’ culture was spread all over the world.

Unlike the previous civilizations Greeks were not afraid of finding something new about the Earth. Greeks were the first to find out that the earth was round. Greeks wanted to know more about the universe, heavens, and themselves. They studied the sky, moon, connection to other planets.

The main fact that reminds us about the Hellenic architecture is Hellenic Pyramids. Greeks borrowed the idea from the Egyptians. Greeks also got a lot assembled in their culture from different cultures. By doing this they created the best known culture at that time. By the 300′s BC, in the Hellenistic period, there are some new architectural types. Less time is spent on temples. The new form is the theater, and many theaters are built all over the Greek world. Also, there is new interest in town planning at this time: streets begin to be laid out in straight lines, instead of just developing naturally. With the conquests of Alexander the Great, architecture becomes an important way to spread Greek culture and show who is in

charge in the conquered countries.

The main trend in philosophy at that time was unique that was never practiced before. It was called autarkeia which meant self-sufficiency. It was introduced by cynics who were headed by Diogenes. Behind his rejection of traditional allegiances lay a profound concern with moral values. What matters to human beings, he taught, was not social status or nationality but individual well-being.

The Hellenic language is the most perfect human achievement in the linguistic field. And this, of course, is not incidental. This language, therefore, is the creation of people with superior thought and mental consistency. The qualities characterizing the language of the Hellenes, also characterize their being. Proof is that the same qualities (clarity, providence, power, expressional wealth etc) are found in their mental and artistic creations.

Roman civilization was basically a copy of Greek. That is the main reason why I think it is not as great as Greek. The conduct of political affairs was heavily dominated by the senatorial class, particularly by a small number of noble families. The upper classes generally followed one of two informal political factions: Populares (“the party of the people”) Optimates (“the party of the best men” or of the aristocrats).

The main occupation of Romans was agriculture. Latium which was the area around Rome was an agricultural region. That is very similar to all civilizations that I wrote before. Romans also had a new industry – pottery. Pottery was introduced from Campania and the art of bronze-casting from Etruria. A Roman would usually get up early and work a six hour day.

One distinct difference between the civilized Roman world and others was their housing. Whereas others lived in primitive huts, Rome took to housing its people in sophisticated brick-built houses, not so different from what people live in today. The Romans brought a lot of new ideas to architecture, of which the three most important are the arch, the baked brick, and the use of cement and concrete.

Roman art grows out of Etruscan art and at first it is a lot like Etruscan art. Because of this, it has a close relationship to Greek art as well. Roman art as a type of its own really gets going around 500 BC. The Romans were particularly interested in portraiture: in making statues that really looked like one particular person, especially a famous person. As was the habit of Roman society, the Romans did not invent their music. The music of Rome has its origins in Greek traditions. Our term for music itself is derived from the Greek term Mousike, which means “the art of the muses.” Early Greek music was purely melodic, or homophonic, utilizing only one melody without chordal accompaniment. The Greek musical system used Pythagorean mathematics to organize the chief concodant intervals according to simple numerical ratios.

Roman philosophy is thoroughly grounded in the traditions of Greek philosophy. Interest in the subject was first excited at Rome in 155 BC by an Athenian embassy, consisting of the Academic Carneades, the Stoic Diogenes, and the Peripatetic Critolaus. Of more permanent influence was the work of the Stoic Panaetius, the friend of the younger Scipio and of Laelius; but a thorough study of Greek philosophy was first introduced in the time of Cicero and Varro. In a number of works they tried to make it accessible even to those of their countrymen who were outside the learned circles.

Roman authors turned primarily to Greek sources, when composing the cultural heritage that became known as Roman ancient culture. For example Virgil, when describing the mythical origins of Rome in his Aeneid, turned to Homer’s tales about Troy.

Jeff Stats

Author Bio
Jeff Stats is a writer at essay writing service Mindrelief.net. They were famous fruit trees, because of the delicious berry fruits that were abundantly produced by fast growing trees—loaded with huge green leaves that were eaten by livestock, along with the berries, and the leaves were used in the Orient to fatten silkworms for the silk trade. General Oglethorpe, in 1733, imported 500 white mulberry trees to Fort Frederica in Georgia to encourage silk production at the English colony of Georgia.

William Bartram, the famous early American explorer and botanist, described his encounter with mulberry trees near Mobile, Alabama, in his book, Travels, in the year 1773.

Prince’s Nursery in 1774 offered for sale 500 white mulberry trees, ‘Morus alba’ and 1000 black mulberry trees, ‘Morus nigra,’ at Flushing, New York. Documents show that America’s first President, George Washington, bought fruit from this nursery.

Mulberry trees were planted in the landscape of President Thomas Jefferson 20 feet apart, and the fruit trees lined both sides of the road that extended around the house at Monticello, Virginia.

The silk trade was extremely important in the ancient civilizations in exchanges of fabrics, rugs, etc. The caravans of camels that traveled the “Silk Road” from Turkey to China brought world civilizations in contact with many valuable products back and forth to be traded, one of the most desirable and important products was silk. The mulberry trees, ‘Morus alba

,’ were most desirable for silk production and gradually were filtered from Oriental societies to European fields. Many of these mulberry trees are grown today in Turkey, from where the famous Turkish silk carpets are distributed throughout the world.

Early Americans such as General Oglethorpe hoped to establish the silk industry in the American debtor colonies, but the project was destined for failure for many reasons. The mulberry trees are very fast growing fruit trees, and many farmers in the United States and other countries are hoping to profitably grow the trees for the production of human and livestock food. The wood of mulberry trees is very soft and is used for many purposes in many nations, but not extensively in the United States.

The white mulberry, ‘Morus alba,’ with the extremely large crop production of these trees has been observed growing as a fruit tree in North Carolina according to researcher, Russell Smith, in Tree Crops: A Permanent Agriculture that: white mulberry trees planted by a farmer “who kept pigs and claimed that one-third their weight was due to the mulberries falling from the trees—about 625 pounds of pork to an acre on rather thin, sandy land with little care and no cultivation.” James A. Duke in Handbook of Energy Crops sees the mulberry fruit as a source of energy, “in South Korea on producing high yields of ethanol from mulberry trees.”

Mulberry trees are considered to be a very important fruit tree in gardens of the Orient, Europe and the Mideast, and since new hybrid cultivars have been developed recently, the demand for these trees has surged in the U.S., where the grafted trees are rare, expensive and difficult to obtain. New cultivars are adaptable throughout the U.S. except Southern Florida, California and Arizona, and some trees offer stainless fruit, early bearing, rapid growth and delicious berry quality on berries that dangle from the stems, some tasting sweet as honey. These syrupy sweet mulberries are used in Ice Cream, jams, jellies, beverages, pies, and as stuffing mixtures for game birds.

The fast growing mulberry tree can grow as much as 10ft in one year, and as a rule will bear a few berries the first year, some with the richness of sweet cherries. The berries ripen to a brilliant black color, or red, pink, or white and are delectably fragrantly sweet and about two inches long, like a cooling blend and taste of raspberry and strawberry. The mulberry is excellent for fresh eating and for cooking pies. Some mulberries when dead ripe are so soft that just picking them breaks the fragile skin, staining your fingers purple with juice. This means that as a commercial berry available from grocery shelves, forget it, but nevertheless: the mulberries only need to travel as far as your mouth.

This choice mulberry fruit is practically seedless with a crisp, sweet flavor when eaten directly from the tree. Every child in your neighborhood will learn when the berries from this outstanding tree are ripening in early May. Most cultivars of hybrid mulberry trees are well adapted in most areas of the United States.

The dessert quality berries are excellent and honey sweet for picking directly off the tree and contain high concentrations of fruity sugar that makes the berries useful to process for jams, jellies and pies. The mature height of mulberry trees is 30 feet.

New grafted cultivars of mulberry trees are gaining lots of attention from the backyard gardener.

You may not be aware of it but a part of the highways and parking lots that you drive your car into may have been around for millions of years! Those roadways and pavements’ considerable history can be attributed to one if its key component – asphalt. Yes, the asphalt that is used to pave the roads that you drive through has indeed been around since the prehistoric times to merit a discussion.

Asphalt has been dated back as early as the prehistoric period. Evidence of this claim can be attributed prehistoric animal preserves found by archaeologists at La Brea Tar Pit, Los Angeles California that have been observed to have asphalt deposits.

There should be no surprise to it already because by definition, asphalt is a black, viscous, cement-like bitumen (an organic byproduct of organic matter) that occurs naturally in crude petroleum. Since fossil deposits produce petroleum, it is natural to find asphalt that can date back to millions of years ago.

Even if it is a byproduct, technology has found different ways and means to utilize asphalt. However, industries at present do not use natural deposits of asphalts found directly from its source. The asphalt that is used these days has to be separated and isolated from crude oil such as naphtha, gasoline and diesel.

It was in the ancient times when natural asphalt was used extensively by civilizations. Ancient Babylonians used natural asphalt as a building material. It can even be noted in the Old Testament books of Genesis and Exodus. If you browse thro

ugh these books of the Bible, you can read that asphalt has been referred to several times as a “caulking material”.

From recent archaeological excavations, it has been found that asphalt was a significant material for ancient civilizations.

Dating back as far as 3200-540 BC, asphalt has been used by ancient civilizations near the Indus Valley such as the Mesopotamians as cement for masonry, a material for street construction and as a waterproofing layer for temple baths and water tanks to name a few.

Even Egyptian mummies had their fair share of asphalt. Mummies dating back as far as 300 BC had asphalt as one of its important materials for its mummification.

It was not until 1802 when asphalt was first used to pave roads. Back then, asphalt that was used was not yet refined and processed. Rock asphalt was first used in France for floors, bridges and sidewalk surfacing. Philadelphia then followed in 1838 when rock asphalt was also used to pave sidewalk constructions in the said state.

Before the use of processed asphalt, smooth and level roads were unheard of. Rocks, boulders and chunks of asphalt were used but not evened out to provide smooth and flat roads. Processed asphalt was not used up until 1870 when Newark, New Jersey claimed the title of the first state to have the first processed asphalt-laid pavement

Since then, the demand for processed asphalt has gradually increased. However, as the industrial age pushed forward, the demand for asphalt increased dramatically. From the 3 million-ton demand in 1926, the demand for asphalt increased up to 11 million tons in 1950, following the World War II.

The advantages of asphalt emulsion (a mixture of asphalt, water and an emulsifying agent that enables the asphalt to mix well with water) also helped in the boom of asphalt production.

During the 1970s when an energy conservation measure was issued by the Federal Energy Administration, asphalt emulsion became a commendable candidate for road construction. Since it did not require petroleum solvent to make it liquid and it can be used even without additional heat, the use of asphalt emulsion contributed much to the energy conservation drive of the government.

In retrospect, the asphalt on our present day roads and highways may not be millions of years old. However, the next time we walked through a sidewalk or drove to a parking lot; let us not disregard the history and the advantages that this age-old material has given us.

James Monahan

No related posts.

Learn Spanish in Peru – Home of Ancient Civilizations

Ancient Civilizations

Language

Learn spanish in peru

Television
<guid

In human however, it has the additional role of beauty. You want a flat top toenail that is smooth and nicely groomed.

In a number of people, nail fungus disease is a growing problem. In America, the number of people estimated to be having this problem is 3.5 million. This is more than the population of some countries in Europe. While this number is sign of a growing problem, it is not a new problem. The ancient civilizations such as the Greek, the Egyptian and the Chinese have records of attempts to treat toenail infections.

It often starts as a yellowish or browning of the nail. This discoloration can be on a section of the nail plate before it advances to other parts of the nail. Before long, say in matter of weeks, it would turn in color to become either black or greenish.

This would be dependent on the type of fungus that has infected the nail. If you are in the temperate, then you are likely to have dermatophyte type of fungus while if you are in the tropics then it is likely that you are a host to candidas nail fungus. Eventually you end up with very soft nail plates that easily disintegrate to leave an ugly toenail.

The remedies or solutions to choose from are increasingly growing in number. The factors to consider in choosing the type of nail fungus treatment for your toe include the severity of the infection, the type of the fungus, the stage of infection and the cost.

The best remedies are<div

Kudzu is Chinese herb that has been identified for the treatment of alcoholism. Anybody who has even had an addiction will tell you that addiction recovery is one of the most difficult of the tasks that life throws at us. Whether it is an addiction to tobacco or to heroin or anything in between is not easy, and those that join the ‘self-afflicted’ lobby do not help, but for the Grace of God…

Alcohol addiction is now potentially the most prevalent addiction in the world. There are now more that drink alcohol than smoke, and alcohol related problems are more than just a social problem, but cause the deaths of over 100,000 annually in the USA. One shudders at the thought of the world-wide death toll. It has been suggested that chemical addictions, as opposed to physical habits, can have chemical cures. Although the jury is still out on this one, there have been some positive results achieved in the treatment of addicts with natural remedies.

One of these natural remedies is the Chinese herb, kudzu. Kudzu is a climbing vine that can grow just about anywhere: in fields, lightly forested land and mountains. It is found throughout China, and also in the south eastern states of the USA. The reason for this strange distribution is that the plant was introduced to the USA by Japan at the 1876 Centennial Expo in Philadelphia.

The large blooms attracted gardeners who propagated them, and when it was discovered that the plant made good forage for animals, Florida nurserymen grew it as animal feed. Its effect in preventing ground er

osion rendered it popular during the 1930s and 40s when farmers were paid up to $8 an acre for growing kudzu. Fodder and groundcover were the original uses of this vine in the USA irrespective of its medicinal uses on the other side of the Pacific.

Prior to it being recognized as a useful treatment for alcoholism, the vine had been used in China for generations for the treatment of such conditions as headaches, flu, high blood pressure symptoms, dysentery, muscular aches and pains and the common cold. It is still used to treat digestive complaints and allergies, and find use in modern medicine in the treatment of angina.

It is the root that is mainly used, which at up to six feet tall provides a plentiful supply of its active ingredients. These include isoflavones including daidzein and isoflavone glycosides, mainly puerarin and also daidzin. However, it is in its application in the treatment of alcohol addiction that the root is currently creating interest.

Studies in the 1960s on animals bred with an alcohol craving indicated that daidzein and daidzin reduced their consumption of alcohol when offered it, and further studies have indicated that the mechanism of this was by inhibition of enzymes necessary for metabolizing alcohols. This has not yet been successfully repeated in humans, but the effects on animals cannot be just coincidental. Or can it? That question can only be answered by those for whom kudzu has been found effective, although many laboratory studies have shown that it certainly reduces the alcohol consumption of those with a habitual heavy intake of the substance.

Of all the other substances that have been used in an attempt to reduce the extent of alcoholism in the Western world, none have been found truly effective. The three recognized treatments of Campral (Acamprosate Calcium), approved by the FDA in July, 2004, Naltrexone (Revia) and Antabuse work in three different ways. Campral is useful only once you have stopped drinking and have detoxed, Naltrexone interferes with the pathway in the brain that ‘rewards’ the drinker and Antabuse gives unpleasant side effects that are meant to put the drinker off drinking.

Although all have side effects of one type or another, they have been approved by the FDA, and must therefore be assumed safe if used as recommended. However, none are natural, and kudzu has been found to have no known side effects. It is a type of pea, and did you know that it grows about one foot a day? Luckily it only grows to about 20 feet!

It is kudzu’s lack of side effects that renders it so attractive as a treatment for alcoholism, although more tests are needed before the evidence for its effectiveness can be declared cast iron. Most of the tests to date have been carried out on heavy drinkers rather than true alcoholics, but they have all found the plant effective in reducing the amount that each member of the study drank, even though no limitations were placed on them.

Future studies should probably be designed to determine if the treatment is safe for such groups as pregnant women, young people and those with specific medical complaints such as liver problems. Naltrexone should not be used by anybody with serious liver problems, and even campral is only suitable if you have no more than a moderate liver problem. Since alcoholics can reasonable be expected to also suffer from liver disease, then a treatment that is safe for such people would be very welcome.

A 2002 meeting of the Research Society on Alcoholism in San Francisco named kudzu and St. John’s Wort as being the two most promising treatments for alcoholism. The mention of St. John’s Wort raises an interesting point, and one that must be discussed. That is the question of standardized doses, and what can happen if doses of natural products are not standardized with respect to the identified active constituent.

The reason for the importance of this is that not all sources of a particular herb are equally well endowed with active constituents. Although, for example, a dose of 2.5 grams daily of kudzu root might be recommended, how does the percent content of isoflavones in different roots vary. That variation will mean that the amount of active ingredient taken in one 2.5g dose will differ from that in another, unless there is standardization.

The reason St. John’s Wort brought this to mind is that with this herb, used for some psychological problems such as depression, the active ingredient content was standardized. It was standardized to 0.3% hypericin, a napthodianthrone that causes an increase in dopamine levels. However, standard doses of St. John’s Wort gave inconsistent results and the reason for this could not be identified. It now has been. The active ingredient is now known to be not hypericin, but hypeforin, what is known as a prenylated phloroglucinol. The herb is now standardized on this substance.

This is a demonstration of the importance of identifying the active ingredients in a herbal treatment accurately, and also of standardizing doses. Kudzu doses must be standardized if their effect is to be consistent. There is now little doubt that addiction recovery is possible with Chinese herbs like kudzu, and who knows what else the ancient civilizations such as the Chinese have to offer us.

More information on Kudzu root, extracts, and recovery formulas can be found at VitaNet, LLC Health Food Store. http://vitanetonline.com/

No related posts.

History Of Natural Stone Applications

Ancient Civilizations
<guid

It is the durability of the stone, which has made it possible for you to see the beautiful works even after thousands of years.

Men have used natural stones for ages to build their castles and houses. Different types of natural stones were also used to make beautiful pieces of sculptures. Many pieces of marble sculptures can be found on the museums. The Great Pyramid Of Cheops is an excellent piece of architecture made with huge blocks of limestone. It was made around 2560 BC. Ancient people were also concerned about the esthetic appeal of the building and have used smooth casing stones in the pyramid. In fact these stones are characterized by durability and it has made pyramids a much visited tourist spot even after ages.

Ancient Egyptian civilization was the first civilization that has used natural stones extensively for building purposes. They had excellent skills in architecture and have created excellent structure using natural stones. Interior burial chamber in The Great Pyramid Of Cheops were made up of granite blocks. They were carved so minutely that no one would be able to slide a paper between them.

The trend of using natural stones to increase the esthetic appeal of their buildings was seen in the Greeks too. Temple Of Zeus, The Theseum and Parthenon are some of them. It was under the rule of the Greek empire that marble was brought into home.

The trend of using natural stones continued in the Roman Empire. They have extensively used granite and marble. Romans were excellent road builders and preferred granite for this purpose. Pantheon in Rome is one of the pieces of Roman architecture using natural stone. Romans preferred granite for its strength and durability. They preferred marble for its beauty. The Romans have introduced building techniques using marble and bricks, which is followed even today.

Renaissance had left a great mark on the marble sculptures and architectures. It was in this period that better fabrication and quarrying techniques have been developed. From this period, natural stones were used in monuments, palaces and churches.

There are many different types of music, both today and since the beginning of recorded history. The one thing that nearly all early music had in common was its association with religious beliefs and customs.

Many ancient civilizations used music in their religious and social ceremonies, although most had their origins in simple drumbeat rhythms. These basic sounds were used to accompany ritual dances in cultures as diverse as those from early indigenous American peoples to Asian and Middle Eastern cultures. These eventually evolved into various kinds of song, a number of which have been saved and are still practiced in traditional ceremonies today.

Gregorian Chant is another interesting early music which is associated with religion. European Monks studied and advanced this to an early art form, with its rigid structures and intervals assisting in the Godly aspirations of the religious orders. The designs of churches were integral in lending the acoustics deemed requisite for this solemn song.

It is possible to trace the origins of traditional classical music back to its roots in the Church, which begs the question about whether we would have the classical music so beloved today if not for religion. For many people, the soothing sounds of music evokes a spirituality that they identify with religious aspirations. We certainly wouldn’t have the intense sounds of the enormous pipe organs without the existence of the churches they were designed for and installed in.

Even early popular music like Rock ‘n Roll owes its ex<div

This eventually evolved into Blues and even Country Western. Although seemingly quite removed, even modern rock and rap wouldn’t exist without their religious roots.

And that brings us to Jazz, my personal music of choice. Jazz fills the void left by modern life for so many of us because of its unique creativity and spontaneity. The process of improvisation that dominates all types of Jazz music actually creates a piece that is never played the same way twice.

Modern choices in music also include New Age, Christian Rock, Reggae, and dozens of offshoots, all of which have found a following. Obviously, these all speak a special message to their devoted listeners.

In fact, modern music has evolved to the extent that nearly all thresholds have been blurred, making it both difficult and unnecessary to try to classify much of what is played and sung today. As long as there are musicians playing, there will probably always be an audience to be entertained.

Jeremy R. Steele has been involved in the music business for several decades and is a lover of all things music, especially piano. Mr. Steiner is also a strong advocate of quality beginner piano lessons for children.
