The Aquarian Eccentric Spirit Soars With A New Moon, Mercury, Sun, Chiron And Neptune Riding The Wave Of Brilliancy

We have some very special days coming up with a New Moon, the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Tiger starting, as well as St. Valentine’s Day ~celebrating love and connection.

In Western Astrology this week is all about the energies of Aquarius with six Planets in this innovative sign. If you remember the song from the musical Hair: “This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius”, you know that Aquarians are such original thinkers, revolutionaries and nonconformists that they reshape the world for the better. They are not interested in how things have always been, but in a world of freedom and equality for all. They always have their eye on the future, not on the past. The cultural revolution of the 1960s and 70s epitomized the Aquarian need to rebel against the established order and bring forth a new vision. I loved that musical as a child! It was somehow mysterious and uplifting, that was all I was caring about.

Aquarius is the elevens sign in the unfolding of the zodiac. It is thought of as masculine and representing the element air even if it is depicted as woman carrying water. That might seem weird at first glance. But Water is associated with nurturing, and Aquarians are fundamentally nurturing humanitarians, with a deep interest in and genuine concern for other people. The Big T-Square

It sounds a like the Big Bang and some people expect it to act a little like that. We are in the middle of some serious shaking up of the old which will continue throughout this year.

And of course our friend Uranus as well as Saturn is involved in the so called T-square which is much talked about in the astrological community because of its wide reaching implications for our present time of change. The opposition of Saturn with Uranus is happening five times between November 08 and July 2010 and is activated by a square with Pluto into the T-square 3 times between November 2009 and August 2010.

There is a global impact of all this which shows as a major cultural turning point, challenge and start into an unraveling of structures in our society we all have dreaded since the financial markets meltdown started and the economy started to fall apart on us. But there is also a very personal impact each one of us is facing as an individual and we are called to action with adjustments in our personal lives and this week is a good week to get more in alignment with it.

Mercury Sails into Aquarius with a Quincunx to Jupiter

Uranus and Aquarius are representing a very strong intellect, and intellect combined with ingenuity makes for great discoveries in the sciences and the most impressive artistic creations. But with Mercury settling into the very intellectual and detached sign of Aquarius we could end up with “turning into brilliant but cold blooded Mr. Spook” as astrologer Jeff Jawer put it. If it wouldn’t be for Jupiter’s optimism and the loving Venus making her new home in Pisces, we might get lost in the righteousness of the overall revolution and kill off our own children and bright future as it happened in the French Revolution which was ending in a big blood shed of everybody killing everybody.

Uranus is not for sissies and can get easily carried away thinking the end justifies the means.

Mercury in Aquarius in Opposition to Mars in Leo

The Mercury Mars opposition can fuel the impatience of the New Moon and make us more easily frustrated, irritated or angry then usual. But their connection also carries the potential of immediate action and implementation of new ideas. The solution can be found where Aquarius and Leo meet in the balance of the ego need for self gratification, applause and admiration of Leo with the integration of considering others, the bigger group, family, or society of Aquarius.

Venus Enters into Pisces

Venus, the goddess of love is exalted in Pisces which means she feels quiet at home in the all encompassing, transcending sign of Pisces. Loving Venus smoothes the raw edges of the week with all the impatient Aquarian energy and helps us to keep an inner contact with what life really is about, our inner connection with all that is, life in all its forms. Venus in Pisces points us towards our vision and dreams of oneness and true love and that is the first necessary step to ever get there. I love this quote by Abraham-Hicks: “Sometimes people say, ‘Well, Abraham, shouldn’t I face reality?’ We say, no, you never do that! Never face reality unless it is perfect in every way.”

This is for sure different then what I have been brought up with. But think about it. Nothing ever has been created without the idea or vision first. Every house had a blueprint and architectural plan first before it was built. How can you expect to ever live a fuller, more satisfying life in any way if you don’t allow yourself to dream about it first and then take action steps towards it? The trick with the manifestation business is to keep your attention on the vision and not get hung up on the missing of the manifestation which has not happened yet. Be patient in the constant flow of unfolding and endless creation process you will never be done with. You might as well enjoy the journey and keep your eyes on the prize. And use any excuse to be happy and feel joy along the way.

New Moon in Aquarius

The New Moon each month is traditionally a magical time when the old ends and the new is ready to emerge. It is a time to go inside and take a look back at your month and how it has been for you and from your realization to envision your next month cycle. I think of the New Moon space a little like the New Year resolutions. The New Moon is on Saturday and you might be able to make the time to sit with your journal and do your inner work. Write down your wishes and where you want to go, have or achieve this coming month. Be specific.

When I do vision work I use a crystal to store my visions into and keep it on my altar or I meditate with the stone. It works as an anchor, multiplies and strengthens the energy of my visions and keeps me more focused and grounded with it. The New Moon in Aquarius might make us more impatient then usual. My natal Moon is in Aquarius so I will be especially in tune with this New Moon. I am planning accordingly and will have time with my girl friends doing some fun stuff together. We will go dancing and then have a spa day with infra red sauna, steam and hot tub, just the thing to do with your heart sisters.

What were you dreaming as a kid of what you wanted to do when you were grown up? What did you want to do when you finished school and entered “real life”? As an example, my earliest dream was to become a doctor and really make a difference for other people in their life. Then one of my school teachers and mentor talked me out of it with pointing out that the education would take too many years and I might want to do something

I could be finished with before I turned 30. Real life knocked at my door with good, practical arguments.

Still wanting to make a difference and contribute something of importance I decided at the age of 19 to become a journalist. I wanted to teach and educate others, influence and raise consciousness. I applied at a very good journalist school in Cologne which offered an education in combination with economical studies at the university. The test and application process took 3 days and I made it through with excellent results. Ten month later the program started and that left me too much time to change my mind. I did move to Cologne to start the journalist school but life took a different turn.

I decided I wanted to do something with art, create beauty and become a goldsmith after all. I also liked the idea of being self employed and making my own decisions.

Now you probably wonder where I am going with all this. I want to make the point that we have many different choices for our potentials to take form in our life. I am Gemini rising, with many interests and skills for communication and writing. That would have given me plenty of potential for the professional choice for journalism. With a Neptune trine to Mercury and the Sun in the twelfth house the interest for healing and caring for others could have guided me into a healing profession.

Practical Taurus Rising with Venus in the first house won the contest and I learned the craft of goldsmithing as an apprentice and then studied art. During my art studies I became interested in deeper layers of meaningful jewelry, in astrology and started on a life long journey of learning about alternative healing modalities and the evolution of consciousness. Retrograde planets always turn our focus out of the normal onward directed flow. Leo New Moon in Conjunction with the Sun with Opposition Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune (August 20, 2009)

Another Super Moon, the fourth out of Five this year! The Moon is closest to the earth which is called perigee and the New Moon phase will intensify the gravitational pull on ocean tides and tectonic plates. And of course our emotional receptivity will be tuned up as well! As we have discussed before; the Moon is reflecting our emotional filter and perception towards the world. And the Full Moon and the New Moon are special because they are still points of change in direction and speed, a moment to take a breath and reorient ourselves.

New Moon

Each New Moon provides us with a new beginning of a new cycle, a clean slate to start from. There is a little magic in these turning points of the New Moon and the Full Moon as there is in the Solstice and the Equinox. These are universal rhythms which remind me of our breathing. When we breathe in we supply the body with fresh oxygen and life force, then there is a moment of stillness before we breathe out, releasing the old and stagnant, then another still point and the cycle resumes.

For me astrology is just a wonderful way to find my place in these magnificent universal cycles and gain understanding in how to apply the wisdom found within it.

There are the short cycles of the Moon waxing and waning and there are the longer cycles of the Sun moving through the year. Each station in a different sign is describing a specific universal quality available in that moment in time.

You could say the cycle of the Moon through the zodiac is an indicator of the emotional imprint and the cycle of the Sun is how consciousness and life in general is impacted.

Sun/Moon in Leo and the Story of King Arthur

The sign of the Leo is a sign of courage, stepping up to challenges, taking leadership and the quest for the lionhearted towards the grail. The grail in the story of King Arthur is the symbol for waking up to his true divine nature, becoming enlightened if you will.

The movie The Excalibur is telling us the story of the quest for what ails the country and the king. The solution and answer is found by one of the knights in the form of the grail at the bottom of a river. Water always has been a symbol for our unconsciousness and is ruled by the Moon. When Lancelot brings the grail to the King and he tells him: “The King and the land is one!” And the king is healed from the sickness that ailed him. This message of oneness as our true nature is the potential of this Sun / Moon constellation.

We are living in truly unprecedented times of change and with the potential of a leaping to a higher level of consciousness and the inner experience beyond doubt of our connectedness and oneness not only as a species but with all forms consciousness takes.

Sun/Moon Opposition to Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune

This alliance is showing us the way towards the Aquarian Age and might be one of the milestones in getting there. The Aquarian Age is thought as the time in our human evolution where the principles of equality, diversity, peace, freedom and abundance for all become reality. I grant you we are far from it yet, but I believe that this constellation is setting the stage for the unfolding of it.

Add the Pluto is Capricorn to the mix and you can see what I mean. Pluto is the one who is destroying the old, rigid, no longer serving order and structures of society.

Jupiter is looking for new and better ways to expand, learn and a deeper meaning in our humanness. Chiron is involved in showing us our individual weak points and wounds we need healing for to step forward into the new without old baggage. Neptune is the dreamer of possibilities and knows about oneness and revels in the connection with the divine.

The activated Leo/ Aquarian axis is creating awareness for our dreams, goals and visions for a better life for all and the willingness to start where we are, doing what we can do, and contributing the morphogenetic field with who we are.

Aquarius is the 11th Sign in the Zodiac

Aquarius is the second to the last sign in the archetypical wheel of the zodiac, which is symbolizing evolution and growth on all levels of existence. One circle of learning is almost coming to an end. Therefore they feel a deep inner connection to humankind and love to contribute but on their own terms.

The sign of Aquarius is opposite and complementary of the sign of Leo and is opposing the king or the ruling forces in society. They carry the responsibility for change for the better and shaking up the status quo.

You could say that this is the time we have been waiting for!

Living on a planet where separation, power and greed are still very dominant factors for decisions on a personal or national level and between nations; many of us have those desires for peace, freedom, equal human rights and a true change in human interactions. The election of Obama as President has sprung from the hope for better days, better decisions in politics and a deep longing for change for the better, for true idealism and accountability. “We can do it!”

Jupiter Transit in Aquarius

Jupiter is the planet which we all look upon, for Divine grace and the rewards available to us in Life. The transit of Jupiter from one zodiac sign to another in the sky is a very significant event, particularly for the astrologers. This is because the placement of Jupiter in ones Annual Horoscope is the scale of measure to know how the year will fare for the next twelve months for a particular individual. We know that the circular zodiac of 360 degrees is divided into 12 zodiac signs. Jupiter in its motion remains in each sign of 30 degrees for about a year, and takes 12 years to complete its journey through all the signs of the zodiac. Jupiter presently is entering the zodiac sign of Aquarius on the 20th of December 2009. It will remain here uptil 6th December 2010. We are looking to evaluate what the present transit of Jupiter has in store for us.

Jupiter as a Planet in general

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. So basically it is a planet of expansion. It is masculine and termed as a Brahmin by caste in the Hindu astrology. It rules the signs Sagittarius and Pisces. It gets exalted in Cancer which is ruled by the Moon. Its debilitation place is the sign Capricorn ruled by Saturn. A strong Jupiter in a Birth Chart makes one honest and spiritual, confident and truthful, ambitious and religious. It provides Political leadership, knowledge, wisdom and judgment. Those who have some basic knowledge of Palmistry know that the wise King Solomon’s Cross is found and known as so, due to its placement on the Mount of Jupiter. Aquarius is owned by Saturn and Jupiter here is placed in an area where Saturn is more positive and outgoing in its moods of distribution and allocation of knowledge advancement to those who are its keepers be it in Science, Philosophy, Medical, Space Technology, or whatever be the area of research. Saturn is the lord of Punishment while Jupiter is the “Merciful” or the “Bestower”. This combination of Jupiter in a Zodiac sign of technological advancement is surely going to present to the world a plethora of aids for human comfort. Aquarius is a Fixed sign. Whatever breakthroughs are made in this period would be fixed, which means here to stay and help the mankind. Aquarius is also an Airy science. This is different from the effects of Jupiter in Aquarius on the mundane levels or connected to the masses. The same results cannot be applied to every person on earth in general. So we segregate the people of the world into 12 sections with each section representing each of these zodiac signs.

In this manner we now, can have 12 sets of results for 12 types of nativities.

But we will go a step ahead and try to narrow down the results using in the process, the great knowledge of Indian Vedic astrology we have been given by our Rishi Munis of yore who imparted to us the understanding of the 27 nakshatras or constellations also called as Fixed stars by the Western Astrologer counterpart though this term does not fit in exactly for the nakshatra, but due to want of a better word, will suffice.

We already know that Jupiter is about to enter the Zodiac sign of Aquarius on the 20th of December 2009. The sign Aquarius holds the constellations Dhanista, Satabisa and Purva Bhadra in its compartment. These are ruled by Mars, Rahu and Jupiter respectively.

We will now delineate the results for each Zodiac sign. Here the results are being laid on the basis of Ascendant which is the right way of approach, and not the Sun sign or Moon sign. Ascendant is the zodiac sign which is rising on the eastern Horizon at the time of your Birth.

For instance in the above Horoscope the Sun sign is Sagittarius, the Moon sign is Capricorn, and the Ascendant is Aries. The Ascendant always appears in the top centre bracket of the horoscope.

Results for each Ascendant.

Aries

Moon in Aquarius with a Trine to a Libra Sun on Tuesday

This Moon position will strengthen the presence of the wide conjunction of the threesome Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune. Aquarius as the rebellions spirit and trendsetter is forging ahead into new adventures. Change is in the air and we need to release our resistance. We will feel socially inclined with Moon in Aquarius and Libra Sun, both in air signs. We will be mentally busy and active and it might start us into new directions, interrupting the flow of the old. With Mercury turning direct we do not have any more excuses to get our communication channels going. Everything in life is dependant on our ability to communicate and everything related to Mercurial devices like computer, transportation and electrical devices. Most of our communication these days we do via computer, phone or iphone devices.

I know with Mercury retrograde there is always the temptation to blame it all on good old Mercury if something does not go right in that arena. But even with the retrograde Mercury we are responsible and able to direct our attention where it is needed and adjust to the challenges of the moment. Now we will have a few wobbly days of transition and some things might get easier from now on.

Mercury is in his Own Sign Virgo in a Wide Conjunction with Saturn

The Mercury position in Virgo is a mental frame for us where we pay attention to details and think things through. We can come up with practical solutions and find better ways (Saturn) to deal with problems. Some problematic knots will come undone now easily. It is a time for answers if we ask the right question. It still takes our intention and attention to unravel the mysteries and find a balance between Virgo and Pisces. As we talked about with the Moon in Pisces in the beginning, we need to find the middle path. The balance is found between the need to control and tending to details in the physical world on one hand. On the other hand is the spiritual guidance from the divine forces in our life and our willingness to listen and move from a place of faith and gratitude through our physical activities.

The Energy Cycle of Life

Astrological signs are a beautiful way to represent the changing, cyclical patterns of energy that we all feel as we go through life. Each segment of our life—whether it’s a day, a week, a month, or a year—and our life as a whole, has a beginning, a middle, and an end.

These time periods have very different energy qualities. At 7:00 a.m. we feel full of energy and ready to begin our day. By 10:00 p.m. we look forward to restful sleep to recharge our energy. Monday feels very different from Wednesday and Sunday, doesn’t it? In spring we come out of our hibernation and feel infused with energy. By November in the Northern Hemisphere we look forward to curling up by the fire with a hot cup of tea and a good book as we enter a slower, more contemplative period.

Each phase of the life cycle has its own qualities that can be enhanced by understanding the energy pattern of that period. The astrological signs will teach you how to maximize your potential throughout the year and in each phase of your life.

The Twelve Astrological Signs

There are 12 astrological signs, named for constellations. On a horoscope they are arranged around the outer ring of the chart. The planets are on the turning zodiac ring inside the ring of signs. As that ring turns, the planets move through each of the astrological signs in the course of one year. The 12 signs are:

1. Aries

2. Taurus

3. Gemini

4. Cancer

5. Leo

6. Virgo

7. Libra

9. Sagittarius

10. Capricorn

The Signs as the Theater of Life

As you look up at the sky at night, you can imagine the planets as actors on a stage. In a sense, the astrological signs are the “stage” where the planets act out their roles. Each stage has its own particular energy pattern that influences the planets as actors. As a planet enters a sign, it comes under the influence of the energy pattern of that sign.

So we might say that “Mars is in Leo now,” which means that Mars is now being influenced by the energy pattern of the sign of Leo. When Mars has finished its role in Leo it will move on to its next stage, Virgo, where things will be quite different for Mars! So Mars always retains its own qualities, but those are modified according to the sign that Mars is in.

The Character & Energy Patterns of the Signs

The signs get their characteristics from where they fall in the yearly cycle of one revolution of the zodiac, which represents one revolution of the Earth around the Sun. During that year, all life on Earth goes through one cycle of evolution.

If you live in a place that has four seasons, you can strongly sense that your life has an ebb and flow related to the seasons. You may be acutely aware of changes in your energy, emotions, sleep patterns, and ambitions as the seasons change. The astrological signs represent that cycle of evolution of energy.

The energy patterns of the signs almost constitute a personality type, a typical mode of expression of the sign. For example, Aries, because it is the first sign of the zodiac and is associated with spring, symbolizes new energy, new beginnings, new growth, expansion of all creation. Those energy qualities are correlated with personal qualities such as courage, extroversion, aggression, and so on. It is not hard to see why Aries is called “the warrior,” and how an astrological sign can take on human personality characteristics.

The Dates of the Signs

Viewed from the Earth, the Sun appears to change its position in the sky as it moves through the year (actually it’s the Earth that tilts on its axis). The Sun moves into each constellation on a specific date. So when we say that the dates for Aries are March 21 to April 20, we mean that the Sun appears in Aries on those dates.

The Genders & Elements of Signs

Each sign is considered either masculine or feminine and is associated with one of the four elements, Earth, Air, Fire, or Water. As you might already have guessed, Aries, for example, is a masculine fire sign.

Your Birth Sign

At the moment of your birth—the most important day of your life—you come into the world under the influence of the energy of that specific moment generated by the heavenly bodies, how they stand in relation to each other, and the astrological sign of your birth date. You are infused with those energies and will be influenced by them throughout your lifetime. This is not at all surprising, given that you are an energy being! All of these energy relationships and their meaning are revealed by your horoscope.

When you are born you are like a seed that contains all the information and potential that will make it grow into a specific plant. Your horoscope is a chart of the beginning of your life (or of an event later in life). Like a seed, it contains information about the energy pattern that makes you who you are and points to your recurring life themes.

Most people know what their astrological sign of the zodiac is. Even if you do not believe that the positions of the planets at the exact time of your birth is an indicator of your personality and can determine events that happen to your throughout your lifetime, you have almost certainly met someone who does. So just what is your astrological sign of the zodiac? In western astrology your sign of the zodiac depends on the location of planets and constellations at the moment you were born. Are horoscopes just mystic nonsense or are are you like many others who believe there something to it and do horoscopes truly predict the course of events in your life?

Astronomy and astrology are among the earliest sciences known to man The ancient Babylonians are generally acknowledged to have originated the practice and the science of astrology. There are astrological records that originated in Babylon as early as 1645 BC. The astrological charts they made based on their astronomical observations enabled them to predict the recurrence of the seasons and certain celestial events. The Sun, The Moon and only the five planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were known to them at the time. The Babylonian astrologers believed the planets were Gods and possessed distinct powers. Mars, for example, appeared to be red and was associated with aggression and war while Venus was worshiped as the Goddess of love.

Babylonian astrology was studied by Plato, Aristotle and other important ancient Greek philosophers early in the 4th century BC. Other cultures, such as the Eg

yptians, he Arabs and the Romans, developed some of the first calendars and more accurate timekeeping which helped astrologers cast more accurate charts. This lead to astrology becoming highly regarded as an important study. The Roman names for the signs of the zodiac later spread throughout the entire world.are still used today. The modern word zodiac is derived from a Greek word meaning a circle of animals.

From the time man began to observe and track the world around him, he has also contemplated his own relationship to the earth, stars, planets and elements around him. Early astrologers knew it took twelve lunar cycles, the months of the year, for the sun to return to its original position. They then identified twelve constellations that they observed were linked to the progression of the seasons and assigned them names of certain animals and persons. In Babylonia, for example, the rainy season was found to occur when the sun was in a particular constellation which was then named Aquarius the water bearer.

Astrology may have been one way that the earliest civilizations helped define their place in the cosmos. They perceived it as being greater than themselves and not something to be conquered but to be understood. While earliest astrology was used to bring a sense of order out of apparent chaos, it was soon employed to predict weather patterns, primarily for agricultural purposes. It was eventually widened to include forecasts of natural disasters, war and other events that affect the human condition. Once success in these fields was established it was a natural evolution for astrology to be used as a means of advising kings and emperors and in time the population at large.

In the beginning and for more than 2,000 years, astrology and astronomy were the same science. While in modern times astrology is seen as new age and not as credible as sciences like astrophysics or chemistry, at one time it was as credible a science as any other. Great astronomers like Galileo and Copernicus who helped shape our understanding of modern astronomy were also practicing astrologers. With the evolution of more quantitative sciences astrology’s position and influence have changed to reflect a different outlook.

Everyone who has read a really good astrological profile of themselves has to admit there seems to be some intriguing coincidences. Can we really pretend our knowledge of the universe is so thorough and complete that we can reject the study of astrology despite it’s long history and adherence by so many great people? Maybe Shakespeare had something there when he wrote in Hamlet, “There are more things on Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy”.
